You know..... eBay has always cautioned it's members against slanderous negative feedback, due to the possibility of being sued for libel. It made me wonder when my brother-in-law just recently got his first neg (270+ rating!) which WAS retaliatory. The posted message very slanderous. Has anyone ever actually sued for libel over a posted neg on eBay? What exactly would be involved in doing so? What effect could it have on the entire eBay community? Would it actually be worth the effort?

It would be difficult, if not impossible to win.
You would have to prove that it negatively affected your business, which would be hard to do. How do you prove someone didn't bid on your item because of what a negative feedback said?
