As I posted earlier, I had made a transfer from my C2IT account on 6/11 (7 days ago). I transferred the money to my Debit Mastercard account and after 7 days, the money still has not shown up in my account.
I went to C2it's online message center and asked them about this. I received a notice that when they reply to my message, I will receive an email.
No email ever arrived.
Tonight, I just checked in to my account and they replied earlier and stated this:
Our records indicate that the bank or credit card issuer rejected the transaction. This usually happens if you use a debit card to Get Cash. You can contact the bank or issuer of the credit card that you have linked, to determine if they accept electronic payments.
We have mailed a refund. You should receive the check in the amount of $XX.XX within 7-10 days.
Thank you for using c2it(SM) by Citibank.
For starters, I know for a FACT that my online bank accepts electronic payments, because I used it when I had Paypal, and I currently use it with Billpoint, PayDirect, etc.
I am also not happy that they did not contact me about this problem, and just went ahead and sent me a check. Since the 11th, I have made 3 transfers to this account, so I am assuming they are going to send me a check for each one separately?
It would have been nice to have been notified of this problem before they went ahead and mailed me a check. (That I now have to wait 7-10 days for each one!)
I will now go take C2IT off of all my auctions and stop recommending them.

I just found out tonight that this transfer did not go through, so no, I was unable to contact my bank. But C2IT is telling me that my bank does not allow electronic transfers, and that is just not true.
Besides - the main issue here, is that C2IT did not contact me to let me know there was a problem. I have been looking for that money to show up in my account every day, as I needed it for something particular and did not want to take it out of any of my other accounts. Had they contacted me and let me know my bank did not allow the transfer (or whatever the problem really was) I would have been able to make other arrangements.
C2IT also was supposed to email me to let me know when they replied to my message, and they did not do that either.
So their communication is very poor, and you can't run a business on no communication.

C2IT is just another product from an overly large and monolithic bank - they don't care about just little old you or me.
I passed on their program to begin with because of their size and lack of customer service.
I continue to be surprised customers like you and me allow these big corporations to treat us like dirt.

I've only had two transactions so far with C2IT, but both were problem-free. If I am not mistaken, their terms state that the GET CASH cannot be transferred to a debit card (even if it is also used as a mastercard).
Not trying to excuse any lack of communication that occured, but it would be nice to have another online payment option pick up some support from the auction community. Especially one that charges the sender instead of the receiver.

EG - Below i have copied from the main get cash page --

Please note: MasterCardŽ and VisaŽ debit cards may only be used to Send Cash at this time. If you choose to Get Cash
using a debit card, a check will be sent to you in 7-10 days instead. For quicker access to your cash, we recommend using a
credit card or linked bank account to Get Cash at this time.

I have been using C2it for a few months and probably 25 transactions and it has worked flawlessly for me. I was helping a local customer sign up and he had some problems. The toll free number resolved it quickly. So who will you switch to from C2it? Paypal - where you will not only get no response, your funds can be gone for months if not permanently? Billpoint which allows multiple charge backs from the same customer without closing that scamming buyer's account? Paydirect which takes the customer's money and then tells the seller that a charge back was made when the customer never made it and responds to emails with canned replies that dont address the subject? Moneyzap - good support but the highest fees and no charge back protection? If one minor problem with C2it that may not have been their fault makes you leave, then what are you doing on ebay?

When I was a Paypal cheerleader, I was accused of working for paypal. Since then I have been accused of working for achex, moneyzap, payingfast and now c2it. Amazing why all these companies hired me, considering how quickly I changed jobs.
I guess that's the AW rule. You can't say something nice about a company unless you work for them.

Call me crazy, call me wacky, but when someone devotes a website to trashing every payment service except for c2it....HMMM!!

It's time you learned to read. I gave high marks to achex, moneyzap and bidpay. At one time I gave high marks to billpoint, before the complaints about the multiple charge backs came in. My only complaint with moneyzap is that they have the highest rates from among all the similar services and have since told me that they will give no protection against charge backs, though they claim they havent had any.

So it is true that the starter of this thread did not read the fine print and got upset when the transfer to the debitaccount didn't happen when the TOS of the company said it wouldn't happen?
Or are they more upset that they didn't get emails explaining that they didn't follow the procedure?
Much like when some sellers get so upset that bidders don't follow their TOS and pay by check or paypal?

For the record, when I signed up with C2IT a few months ago, I had a really hard time even signing up with them. When I first signed up, I thought their site was hard to navigate. Someone who is not computer literate would never have been able to sign up with them. Their site was (and parts of it still are) confusing. When I signed up I did not see ANYWHERE that it stated that I could not sign up with a Debit card. It took me forever to just figure out how to link a credit card!
Signing into my account now, I DO see where it says that you can't link to a Debit Card. But I do not believe it was there in plain sight before when I first signed up.
I will not recommend them because: (1) their site is somewhat confusing to me (2)they do not allow linking to a Debit Card (which is all I ever use) (3) they have poor communication.
That being said, I will close my account when I receive my checks in the mail from them.
Yisgood: I have never been rude to you before, so asking me what I will use in the future, and asking me "what are you doing on ebay?" is out of line (not to mention being irrelevant). Yes, I will use Billpoint. 90% of my customers pay by Billpoint, I've used them for over a year, and have NEVER had a single problem, other than a Billpoint glitch once in a while. You can be a C2it cheerleader, because you've never had a problem with them. I will continue to use Billpoint, since I'VE never had a problem with them.
