Is there any one here who deals in sheet music? I found an autographed songbook today, have researched but can't find what I am looking for. Would appreciate any helpful tips any one cares to share. Thanks for your time.

Can you give any specifics? Like who auctographed it and the age and name of the book?

The featured song is One More Song For You....The Imperials. I did find out they were a Christian Gospel Group in the late 70's and early 80's (evidently, there were many different members through the years, one of which was Larry Gatlin) They are not the "Anthony and the Imperials" that most are familiar with. There are pics of 4 members on the cover, but there are at least 6 signatures (maybe the manager or something?) I can read only one full sig, which is Russ Taff (lead singer) and part of two others, a Bill G.... and a J Reeves it looks like. All the songs are from an LP, I believe it is DTS4015 (the book is home, I am not)I also found out that Russ Taff is now in Country, but I haven't heard of him. Thanks for any help you can give!

It sounds interesting but IMO, Gospel music and Gospel singers aren't mainstream enough to add much value to the piece and signatures.

I'm sure it would have value to someone, but it would be harder to sell for a decent amount. The reason being is less people are looking for this kind of thing. Mainstream would be the big stars, mostly pop music.

B.J. Thomas and Al Green were two hugely successful pop singers that tried to go back to their Gospel roots and sadly, they couldn't sell enough records in that idiom. Less demand.

Just my opinion.

OK, I did some checking and I'm sort of surprised.

Gospel related stuff does sell fairly steadily on ebay. However, I still hold by my original thoughts that it won't bring a lot.

Best of luck with it.

Okay, well thanks for the info anyway! guess I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Also picked two up for Peter Paul and Mary, so maybe I'll get lucky with those. They didn't have much to go by on EBAY, but what the hey huh? Thanks again!

Russ Taff is quite famous in Christian music circles. The Bill G is probably Bill Gaither who has a gospel music empire (songwriter, performer). He owns the rights to thousands of songs and does all those "Homecoming" videos that are shown all over the world. Many of these videos are #1 sellers in the music video world, topping even rock, pop and country music. Whether you can get much money out of what you have is questionable though.

Probably won't get much money, but oh well, I didn't pay much. If I get $5.00 I will be ahead by a few bucks, minus my time and mileage and packaging materials and etc. (just kidding, dont anybody get riled) Thanks for all the great info though! It's almost more fun finding out the history on these sorts of things than it is selling it. Course, the big bucks or bidding wars are sort of fun too, don't ya think?
