I found a coffee mug with an ArnArt stamp on the bottom. It also has what looks like Blue Orion. I did a search and found several things under Arnart, but blue orion brings up nothing. Can anyone tell me about this? Thanks.

Be easier if you had a picture somewhere we could see

Good eyes newguy! I thought it was a typo on the first one and never looked at the second spelling. That's what happens when we read too fast.

Newguy-That's it! Thanks so much. You can tell I know less than nothing about dishes. LOL (just ask my family-kitchen for resale only).

While I'm at it-have another question that will show how little I know.

Have several pieces of old dishes. They are clear with bubbles or dimples all over them. The top of each one is white. Does this make any sense? I don't know how to do a picture, but could email someone that does. Thanks.

Susan, Are your pictures stored at AW? If so, just list the name of the picture and someone will bring it up for you.

Blue ONION originally was made in Germany, mostly by Villeroy and Boch. ArnArt, I THINK, is Japanese-made. To a collector of Blue Onion (I am one), this is not the same thing. Not even close.

So-can Arnart also be Blue Onion? It has the Arnart sticker and then in center of bottom-Blue Onion and the crossed swords (which look more like arrows to me).

Try doing a search on moonstone hocking and see if any of it matches your glass pieces.

The onion pattern was originaly made by the Meissen after a Chinese pattern and pieces by that factory are the most sought after.

Arnart was an importer that imported mainly from Japan but also from other countries. They probably just used the name Blue Onion for a very similar pattern.

Arnart is made in Japan. I recently sold a lace porcelain figurine that still had the Arnart foil sticker attached and it clearly stated that it was made in Japan.

Although, Arnart in itself is collected by many.
