There was a thread on here about swearing etc. But I thought I'd share this (which I recieved from a non registered user of ebay today after sending an NPB). I didn't know you can send an NPB on a NARU. But hold your ears and read this....

I have two men i want to request a FVF from ebay because of. I'm scared to because they have been harassing me. I want them off ebay as quickly as possible, but I don't want to be the one to deal with them since my post office even advised me to get the police involved.

Contact the Police and let them handle it for sure.

Yeah, and those other NPB notices he got were all malicious mistakes by other evil "xxx hole" thieving sellers too...

Gee, some people are just unlucky...

Yeah, right...

ebay gets what it deserves,it wants every man, woman ,dog ,cat to be on board to build up its image of person to person trading community ,thinking we are all honest god fearing citizens.
i bet some ebayers are pet dogs named kaiser, igor ,freddie etc

He's not said anything that is out and out a threat, but I'm still scared to file for FVF. I would like him off ebay, as well so he can't harass others, but hey, I'm not going to be the one to put my family in jeopardy.

My police department would just laugh. My father used to be a 911 operator, and I know the police, and they would just say I'm blowing things out of proportion. Still, I don't feel safe doing a FVF on the man now that he has left me alone for 2 days!

Two comments:

1) If he lives across the country from you the threat is minimal.

2) This is a perfect example of why sellers should do business on the web with a PO Box (IMO).

MrBusinessMan is correct - again.

I take it one step further by not listing a home or business telephone number in eBay contact information. eFax.com offers free voice mail with your own private number. Messages are sent to your eMail account as .wav attachements.

There are too many nut cases out there to list my physical address or telephone number for all to see...

Now, if it's a rich nut case, nothing will stop them!

I have no idea where either of them live. Neither has even given me their address (yet are harassing me for not getting their items.)

So, that's why I'm concerned. Could be the guy down the street or someone in Djibouti. With the one having his own domain (the more harassing one)I can't even report to his ISP, as he would be the one accepting the e-mail.

Thankfully I've heard anything from either. I think I may call ebay and ask if I can somehow secretly file a FVF and explain the situation. Aint no way I'm going to do what they suggest and call them!

Pull their contact info and find out where they live. Then you'll be able to make reasoned judgements on your next course(s) of action.

If I pull their info, they also get e-mailed mine. I don't want them to have my phone number yet!

I've not heard from either in almost 48 hours, so I'm hoping that they are going to leave me alone.

Pulling their info would probably just encourage it to start again.

you could go to spamcop (www.spamcop.net) and find out his upstream provider from there. just open up one of his emails, show the headers, copy/paste into a spamcop form. it'll process it for you and at the end tell you who his host is. write to the [email protected], then hit the cancel button on spamcop.

it's better than doing nuttin' about him.

Forget it.. It's likely blown over for now. Keep the dogs on a long leash and the shotgun nearby.. Get gutsy! Of course you should never listen to me!!!
