Does anybody have official ebay info on what kind of restictions there are with links in description of store items. Are the prohibitions of links with auction items applicable to ebay store items?

Also, are there any restrictions promoting ebay store items in auction descriptions? For example, instead of offering dutch items, just refer buyers to your ebay store for the same item.

Finally, are there restrictions regarding pricing of store items versus auction items. Can store item be price lower than auction item if they are identical.

There was a post from a pink on the Stores board that says the linking guidelines apply to all listings, store or auction.

I've not seen any restrictions on referring people to your eBay Store or about price.

Glenda

Can you tell me if the post was a scrolling one or is it possible still to retrieve it. This is crazy, one has to retrieve info from pinkliner's posts. Why can't they publish official pages with the info.

Also, is there any reason why one should pay the higher listing fee for dutch auctions? Why not post one item only on the auction side and refer buyers to your store? Are multiple quantities allow in store?

From Ebay's Store FAQ:

"Q. Can I add links to other Web sites or email addresses in my eBay Store?
A. Unfortunately, you cannot add links to other Web sites or email addresses in your store or item listings. Please visit our Links and Credit Policy for more information."

I love that "unfortunatley" part. If they realy thought it was "unfortunate" why did the make the rule? Typical ebay doublespeak.

Okay - so can one promote the ebay store thru the auction side? If yes, seems like a cheaper way to relist an item than paying the relisting fee again. Also, you now have 30 days for a nickel. If one has a lot of items, the monthly maintenance fee seems trivial.

when a bidder views your item page,he will see that you have a storefront displayed prominently .all he needs to do is to click on it,or you can mention it in item description like click on storefront.
it seems that ebay slaps this storefront together quick and dity with existing programming codes to thwart auctionwatch and whoever launching storefronts as these services have the ebay dealers and their virtual inventory.
it looks like they must act fast or else!!
else some one will replace them
