I've bought 6 things in the past 2 weeks on eBay. All went perfectly, except for 2.

I've tried contacting these 2 sellers, but am getting no response. One has been about 10 days, the other 8 days.

What next??

can i assume you've already tried contacting them via the 'email this page to a friend' thingy? maybe it's an email problem. if not, i dunno. wait a while longer in case some emergency came up (unless they're posting more auctions or buying), and then neg if you want to.

Did you win with extremely low bids? Maybe they don't want to accept the ending offer and will blow you off hoping you'll go away. JMO

That's what I was thinking.....the seller probably hopes the winner will go away, they can relist and try for bigger bucks. Pretty crappy thing to do, though. If I list something low hoping to attract more interest, and it goes for low, oh well, that's the risk of business. But I would never ignore my customer, nor take the win away and relist!

Have you pulled their contact info yet? Try that, it usually gets their attention.

I usually do that and then if no response, neg and move on...

It's a concern when sellers can't even seem to send you a WBN email. If they have trouble just typing a few words and hitting the "send" button, how are they going to get all the way down to the post office to mail your item?

I don't work too hard in this situation. I would send an email (use the "send this auction to a friend" and CC yourself) to the effect of:

Hi! I'm the high bidder of this auction which ended on June 15, but I haven't received any notification from you regarding where to send payment. Since eBay suggests making contact within 3 business days, I must assume you are no longer interested in completing this transaction. Please let me know if I'm mistaken.

If I still got no response, I would consider it a "done deal," and just be glad I hadn't sent any money to a flaky seller. If somewhere way down the line the seller does make contact (eventually they seem to find time to file a NPB), and you've decided not to complete the transaction (coz you've found the item elsewhere or just don't want to do business with a flake), you have the CC of your attempt to make timely contact to use in your defense (don't know if this would be of help with getting a NPB expunged from your eBay record, but it can't hurt).

Can you file a NSS (Non Selling Seller violation) on them with eBay??? That should be 3 strikes and you're out too, right???

If you get no response with pulling their contact info and or using a different email service to contact them, just forget about it and try one more time a week later. After 30 days of no contact, leave a neg and move on.

A seller who doesn't respond to a legit bid needs to have his head examined.

I agree eSeller004! Some sellers aren't all that accountable for anything, plus if you don't pay them, they can still file a NPB and you have no recourse. Real fair, eh?

These 2 auctions were BIN's. Go figure. I'll send an "Email a Friend" thing and see if that works.

Thanks for all of your suggestions!!! I've just never had this happen before????

Oh, if it was a BIN, that's a different story. They might be on vacation. If the buyers have disappeared, why not the sellers? The weathers too nice outside! Who in their right mind wants to stay cooped up inside with eBay, with summer here???

Well, this is summer vacation, and a lot of sellers (including me) don't own a laptop. Sometimes vacations are not planned in advance. I'd give them a break at this time of year. You also might try calling.

The advice about another email service is good. I had a winning bidder last week who emailed me a couple of times saying he hadn't heard from me, though I emailed him at auction's end. I tried eBay's feature and still his subsequent email sounded like he hadn't heard from me.

Finally, I created a yahoo email account with an address much like my eBay one, sent him an update and cc'd my eBay email address so he'd know I was the legitimate seller, and it turns out he's sent the payment (international). Apparently he got the one I sent through eBay.

My local ISP is very harsh re: spam violations, and there are about 3000 ISP's that are blocked to me. That sounds like a lot, but this is only the second eBay problem it's created. Both were resolved using Yahoo mail.
