My cousin is switching jobs and she wants to close the eBay account she opened with her old work e-mail adress. She opened the account to make one purchase and hasn't used it since, so she just wants to be rid of it.

I've searched all over eBays help boards and I had no luck. When I finally found a page that mentioned closing your account, there were no instructions on how to do it, only links to reasons not to and a paragraph about the consequences of closing your account.

This is so frustrating! All of a sudden I feel trapped on eBay, and I'm not even the one who's trying to leave!

Help!

email [email protected] from the email account attatched to the username. Request that the account be closed. They will send you a reply begging you to stay. Reply to that message, and they will close it. That is, unless there have been transactions within the past 60 days. In that case, you have to wait 60 days from the last transaction.

EBay will close your account BUT they won't remove any of your personal information. They believe that all of the databases belong to them.

just try to sell something on ebay. they'll find some excuse to shut you down. After 2 years with a perfect record, they have shut down the same auctions three times in a row. Each time they give a different reason, I remove their complaint and they just shut it down again. They told me my text about C2it was longer then ten words. So I cut it down. Then they said I cant say ANYTHING about C2it except that I accept it and shut me down again. Now why didnt they say that the first time? I have wasted so much time trying to make my auctions compliant with their stupid, ever-changing rules that I have given up. I dont think even they know what the rules are.
