Hello, Auctionwatchers. Do any current Endicia postage customers know if it's absolutely necessary to use Microsoft Explorer's browser to print postage? I prefer Netscape by far, but the Endicia download page says I can't use my Netscape 4.7 version. Do they mean all versions of Netscape won't work, even newer versions of Netscape?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Hi. I'm with Endicia.
You can continue to use Netscape as your browser. What Endicia needs is for you to *install* IE 5.1 or 5.5 on your PC, so the IE resources are there.
But you can still set Netscape as your preferred browser and never use the IE browser for Web surfing.
The Endicia postage application is a WIN32 client which has it's own built-in internet communications coding. You buy and apply postage using this application -- not your Web browser. But to meet USPS requrirements, Endicia must use the FIPS-certified encyrption engine provided in the IE 5.1 or 5.5 versions.
