I don't do it often, but sometimes I need to revise an auction that doesn't have bids yet. Inevitable it takes at least 15 minutes of getting "page can not be displayed" errors, and hitting the back button, and hitting verify again, etc.etc.etc. Anyone else have this problem? I use auctionwatch, but I'm pretty sure it's an ebay thing.

I don't think it's an ebay thing either. Try (I know, you've heard it a million times!) clearing out cache. Re-start and make sure you don't need to defrag or any of that maintenance kind of stuff and it should go off without a hitch. The clutter and performance level make tremendous differences with things like that.

Ok, you're right, I have heard it a million times before and have never done it since I don't know how ( actually I think I did it once, but can't remember how now). Can anyone help?

I've found it easier and faster to get revisions done through Netscape than IE. Though, with the latest & greatest versions of IE, it seems to be getting better. Must be something to do w/the recent MS/ebay union.

You hit the nail on the head. MSIE and Ebay have never been 100% compatible, but you won't normally know it until you try to revise. Netscape works much better. I personally use Opera when I revise and have never had a problem.

See up on the top of the screen it says "Tools" ... Click that for the pull down thingy. Choose 'Internet Options'...Check the 'delete files' and check the 'delete all offline content' and click on ok. Choose settings and it gives you that pg with all the cookies & stuff. delete all those. Then ok out that box. Then choose "delete history" and clean that out. That should be a good start. If you never do that there will be TONS of stuff in there that needs to be gone.

I can only tell you how to clear your cache if you are on AOL. Just in case you are, here's how.
Click on MY AOL, then click PREFERENCES. Then click WWW, then click CLEAR TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES and after it's finished dumping them, click CLEAR HISTORY. This should do it.

I was having a heck of a problem with this just last weekend, got that same page you mention.
However, when I went into AW & re-listed the closed auctions from here, presto they worked extremely quickly & even the re-vising of titles & templates was smooth, so if you are using AW, try it through the site.

I have the same issue as ihula using IE 5.5 Another seller on another forum suggested using the latest 4.x build of Netscape (4.78?). Apparently, revising auctions are not a problem.

I find that if you don't clear the cache on IE it gives you that error. Netscape doesn't seem to have the same problem, but no guarantees.
