A customer called me Sunday and we discussed digital cameras for a while. He called me back today and we spoke a little more and he placed an order. He wanted to pay by credit card. I told him I no longer accept credit cards and advised him to use C2it. He called back and said he was unable to get C2it to work so he would send me an overnight check drawn on his debit card.
Though we had a nice chat and everything seems legit, when someone overnights a check on the weekend and tells me he is in a big hurry, it tends to make me nervous. Anyone have ideas for how I can verify it a little more? I can't hold his order for ten days.
Edited to add: He wants it shipped to his post office box.

That's the kind that make me nervous too.

Why can't you hold the check? If someone wants an overnight sale, why not a money order?

And then to a PO box? If the address isn't the same (PO box) on the check, I'd be even more nervous.
Who Need's a stink'n Sig. File?

Call his bank or whatever financial institution listed on the check. They should be able to help you determine if it's legit.
