I have been selling for 2 years, so I know there are seasonal fluctuations in sales and that this time of summer can be slow. I think everyone is on vacation! However, what is the community's take on this? Does anyone feel that it could be an economic slowdown or do you think it's just a normal pattern? I wonder abou this because the stock markets are falling and a lot of dotcom companies have gone under or cut way back.

The dotcom failures are old news. They happened awhile back. Economy is fluctuating right now -- but the ebay issue seems to just be seasonal.

Some are reporting better sales than ever right now -- so the category of goods might play a part too.

Tax checks are on their way -- let's hope some of that disposable income gets put in my bin.

This last week I think I have actually lost money on eBay paying listing fees of things that did not sell. This is my worst week. Even being slow in the past few I was doing fine.

ME TOO! I have been cleaning closets so most of the items I have listed really have not cost me anything, so I have listed them very cheaply and I have had alot of auctions close since Monday with no bids at all. Probably the most expensive week for me on ebay regarding fees also. Can't wait for clothing sales to pick up. May just wait acouple of weeks and start listing for school shopping. I agree seems like alot of our buyers are on vacation. Looking for things to pick up!

The past week has been great for me. Don't know what category you others are selling in, but my vintage collectibles are selling quickly with BIN - some within 4 hours of being listed. Regular auctions are doing good too, with higher than I expected closing bids.

I attribute it to the first batch of tax refund checks arriving. Anyone else experiencing good sales?

I've been selling a few years now and this is definitely the worse summer I have experienced. Sells aren't slow but just are not happening. I have managed to sell a few items which helps, but I (we) need some real sells!!!!!!! Most items close with 1-2 bids if at all. I have had to adjust the opening price over the last few weeks. Hopefully we all will be doing better sales wise in the near future. With all the obstacles we are facing with new e bay rules, fees and every one wanting in your pockets these days, its getting harder and harder to make a go at it, don't you think.
Thank goodness sales arent so bad in the shop, seems they are actually doing better than last summer. I have kinda grown dependant on the e bays sells as way for quick turn over, hopefully the "fad" hasnt lost it luster!!
