I usually tell people their priority package will probably arrive in 3 -4 days. I've got 2 priority packages now that were mailed over a week ago and neither has arrived. Is anybody else having a problem with slow mail?

I've had three Priority Packages stuck in the Forest Park Illinois PO station since the 3'rd of July. I track them daily, they don't seem to move. Thanks goodness the customers know I actually mailed them! (slow isn't the word...)

If they don't scan em as they move, you have no idea where they might actually be. Add a SCAN ME label

I had a small priority mail envelope sent from CA on the 23rd just arrive in ND on the 27th (today). That's not good. But nothing is as bad as the 12-15 day Priority delivery time back in December all the way til the end of January (especially to the east coast)

I don't know about Priority, but for Wed and Thurs I just received magazines and letters that were mailed locally, no first class mail at all.
No bills, yeah, but no bidder payments either, and I usually average over 15 a day.
Mailman says it has been like that on his whole route, but won't or don't know about anything wrong.
A few payments trickled through today.

KYMS:
What do you add to priority mail that let's you track it along it's way? Acording to my local P.O. the only way you can do that is to send it Express!

Since I've started using Endicia online postage my mail (Priority, Bound Printed Matter and Media Mail) are moving right along. Had a priority that got delivered from NC to OK in 2 days. Was able to track them with the Free Delivery Confirmation you get with Priority when using Endicia. So now I'm convinced the slow mail is not the post office but the hard to read information on the mail that requires a human to figure it out and code it. Take the human out of the process and the mail moves right along.

paintpower I believe you have nailed it.
Since I began using e-delivery confirmation (different provider, however) my feedback on deliveries has been nothing but praise.

Absolutely! You need printed labels with zip+4 and barcodes. The reason for most mail going astray and taking too long is that it goes to the wrong town. Priority is totally automated. If they add a wrong barcode because it doesn't have one, you are out of luck. Our office at work (Illinois) got a letter from and to New York the other day--the PO added our company's unique zip and barcode for some weird reason.

Yes, Priority and Media Mail is running slow for me as well.
I mailed a Media Mail package 4 weeks ago tomorrow. Still hasn't arrived. Tomorrow I refund.
I mailed two priority packages on Monday 7/23. One arrived on Saturday 7/28. The other has not yet arrived.
Must be a lot of vacations going on in the USPS.
This is annoying, especially right after a rate increase.
