I have been reading all of the great feedback about endicia and decided to check them out. I have a couple of questions not answered on their website though.
1. They mention the Dazzle software. Is this downloaded free after registration, or does this need to be purchased.
2. How do you handle insuring an item. Do you still need to guse the P.O> counter for these items? I would assume so, but just wanted to verify this.
3. Which lables are best to use for an inkjet printer? I ship packages and envelopes of all different sizes.

DAZzle is free once you register.
Insurance
I believe you still need to go to the PO if you are going to insure the mail. DAZzle will help you compute and apply the additional required postage, but I think you need to still go to the PO to fill out and submit the required insurance forms. (I've never insured a package myself, so I'm not very familiar with the procedure forms-wise).
Labels
DAZzle supports all of the Avery label types, plus you can create your own "custom" label configurations -- specifying your own dimensions, etc. Same goes for envelopes --the software will support virtually any configuration. However, some envelope sizes may not feed through your printer model reliably -- that's really the main issue.

Just sent out an insured package this week, using the wonderful Endicia software. I keep the labels at home, so I filled it out at home. My wife took it to the PO along with 5 other Endicia pre-labelled packages and didnt have to stand in line. She handed the clerk the packages, paid for the insurance, got the label stamped and stuck on the package. 1 minute all told. She or I used to have to stand in line, then have each package weighed, each DC label applied, a trip to the PO was an easy 20 minutes. For my uninsured packages, I just put them in the mailbox.

hi, I just started using Endicia as well, and I am using the Priority mail labels from the PO, you will see in the software that you can basically use any size label, you just customize if necessary.
BTW, Endicia is awesome
