Good Morning everyone!
I got something yesterday, and am having one heck of a time figuring out what it is....I want to post a few pics here to see if someone can help identify it, but am trying to figure out how to do the pics...do I need to download to AW and post from there?

I found this yesterday at a thrift shop. It was lying on the counter, and I picked it up to look at it while the cashier was ringing up my other items. It had a $30.00 price tag on it. She told me to "just take it if I wanted it because no one knows what it is and it will never sell for $30.00." I insisted on paying something, so she charged me $1.00. It looks interesting, but I can't figure out what it is used for.
It is made is Switzerland and has a serial number of "1520169" on it. It has both British patent and USA #s on it also. The thing that holds the blade slides up, then you can slide it back down. The dark bar in the center is tri-sided and is very hard. One side has a pad of some sort. It is an Allegro model E.
Here are pictures of front and back, and also the inside of the box and its lid.
Anyone know what this is and/or what it is used for?
