I am glad to see I was not the only one. I was afraid I had gone out of phase with the universe again.....happens from time to time.

No Predictions on Internet Auctions, or not willing to Post your thoughts, if any?

OK.....You want a serious response? Forecasting predictions is too general. State a premise and the parameters of your argument. What is the context? Do you want economic forecasts? Cultural impact? Do you have a working hypothesis? Long run on blathering is a useless exercise. This is why you are getting non sequitor replies.

Keep it Simple: Possible Federal Legistlation Enactment of (D-MA) Sen. John Kerry's Proposal of his 5% Federal Internet Retail Sales Tax: #1- YES #2- NO #3- If "YES", when?

Oooh! That's what the other thread was about. OK I'm game.
I currently must collect tax (8.25%) for any person who wins one of my auctions and happens to live in my state.
Currently, I do not collect that much because Texas residents will buy from an out-of-state seller rather than from me to save the sales tax. I have been known to pass on an item for the same reason.
If I suddenly had to collect 5% from ALL buyers, I think with time, that would just be the "norm". Internet sales might slow down at the onset, but after awhile it would be business as usual or so I believe.
Now, the part that really confuses me...would I have to send EACH state the money I collected on their behalf from their residents or would I send it to the Federal government?
Has anyone actually seen a proposal?

Thanks, the Yahoo Site has much current Info on this Tax Situation. More difficult will be www.GunsAmerica.com and it's Clones; a "Virtual" Antique Arms showplace that is owned by Collectors, Posts Photos Free with Descriptions, but is NOT an Auction OR a "Venue". Hard to believe a Federal Warrant could be issued for each and every Independent E-Mail. (Or Instant Message) To do so would require Trashing the US Constitution. Not likely to impress the Supremes. Basically sort of a "Cyber-Yard-Show", an "Internet Scrapbook". Hard for any of the Sticky Fingered Pols to Legally Monitor or "Tap". Notice the current Governor's Conference Press Statements:"30 Billion Dollars we need to ..........." US GNP is about 1.5% Growth right now, Congress grabs a 7% Budget Increase EACH year. Now they have to find out how to grab a Greased Pig. -PJ38-

My son had to go in front of a judge and was scared out of his wits. We had prompted him what to say and had been advised for him to ask for a PD. The judge asked him if he was going to have an attorney and he just said "yes". We finally had to speak up for him-he just froze. Afterwards, I asked him what happened to all the rehearsing we had done. He said he felt like the kid on Santa's lap. Could hear "SPEAK UP STUPID" in his ears. "A football-what's a football?"
Sorry if this if off-topic-but couldn't figure out what the topic was and it did follow some other posts.

Good Morning, Susan!
The topic is Grabbing a Greased Pig in your pj's between three and eight.
Don't know if it's 3AM to 8AM, 3AM to 8PM, 3PM to 8 AM, or 3PM to 8PM.
Perhaps another poster can clarify that part for you.
Hope this helps.
