Check with your own bank, they are not all the same.

do you know if there's any way that I might not get credited back because I did receive the item. It's a matter of quality. I contacted the company, but their customer service so extremely bad. (the person answered the phone even screamed at me right from the beginning and hang up on me) --So, I was thinking of a charge back.

------We really feel fortunate to not deal with all these "Pay" Services, Bank Foul-Ups, and Cyber Goofs. Last year we had an ISP, a local Real Estate Management Firm, and a Phone Company all Double-Bill us using Automatic Bank Monthly Payment "conveniences". ------One said they could withdraw our money Electronically, but would have to Snail Mail us a Check. Three Account Supervisors later on the phone had this expedited and Electronically reversed. ------We then cancelled all of our "Convenient" Automatic Payments with these three and all others. Red Tape, Delays and Stonewalling are not worth our time and let us not think of money. ------The high level of incompetence and the large number of foul-ups was bad enough, but the endless denials and dishonesty was overwhelming. We can see that Sellers not using these Credit Cards or Internet Payment Services would radically cut Seller's Bidders and Profits. We don't see how you put up with the abuses and mistakes. ------Time for us to write a few primitive checks. They work for us. Our Composition Program is beyond the fringe, but we're not aiming at prizes. ------J------

From my experience, the bank (credit card company) will want proof that you've tried to return the merchandise. Returning the merchandise with a signiture req., return receipt, etc...

Call your company and ask what you should do. They're usually pretty helpful and not condescending. But they will ask if you've made any attempt to return the merch. and rude customer service from the company in question will usually not cut it. The credit card company may even mention that there must be a return address on the merchandise that you received and common sense would tell you to send it back to that address.

Get proof that you've returned the junk and you'll be set.

yes, junk it is. but the company has a limit if 10 days for returns. I remember I kept calling them those days for a return receipt or anything. The guy told me to call back the next day, and the last time i called, they screamed at me and told me to claim a manufacture warranty, even though the defect was the seller company's fault.

recently, i finally found out through personal experience how easy it is to file a charge back.

oh, also, does the charge back get you any custom taxes? I was charged about 50% of the price for Canadian custom tax.

A charge back will not provide costs of your customs fee.

Be sure to write a dispute letter to your charge company. In your dispute letter be sure to state that the merchandise you received was not what you ordered and that you attempted to return the merch. but were unable to because of lack of cooperation on the selling company's part. If you no longer have the box/packaging be sure to tell your credit company that they hung up on you when you made the call in an effort to obtain it (perhaps that's what happened?). You may STILL need verification that you've returned the product (selling company's return policy has nothing to do with the return). Your charge company may need this proof and supply it to the shady seller's bank.

Your charge company will be dealing with this company's bank (not the seller individually).

Good Luck!
