About a month ago, I bought a widget, on ebay. Today, I got this email:
Hi there! I noticed that you purchased a piece of Company B's widgetry. I just wanted to let you know that you actually paid more for it than you would have if you had purchased it from a Company Consultant. Also, Company B will not honor the typical 3-year warranty on widgets since you do not have a receipt from a Company Consultant. If you have any questions or would like to see a new catalog, please let me know!

Right below it was ebay's note:
This email was sent by an eBay member via eBay's email forwarding system.
eBay does not tolerate spam (i.e., unsolicited commercial email) and is
taking steps to protect members from this abuse. In addition, solicitations
to buy or sell items outside of eBay violate eBay rules yadda yadda
Should I report it? I really do hate spam, and I don't appreciate people scoping out what I buy. And, this almost qualifies as auction intereference, to me. Trying to keep me from buying anymore widgets unless I buy them from her...
Maybe I should forward it to the person I purchased my widget from and let her send it to ebay? What do you guys think?

Hehehe.....I have been feeling a bit evil all week (must be the heat).
I agree with Eventer. If you were happy with your dealings with the first seller it may not be so unkind to let them know what their competition is up to.

Capriole, I guess I can say what it is, it was a pampered chef muffin stone. There stoneware is an addiction for me!
I emailed the message to the seller. I am still toying with sending it as spam to ebay. It just irks me so much! (One of those days, it doesn't take much!)

I personally think that spam is dangerous and must be stomped out at all costs. The price of free speech can never be to make unwilling listeners pay the price of you making your speech. If you want to burn a flag, go ahead, just don't make me buy the flag for you. I would report someone who did that to Ebay, the seller, and anyone else I can think of.
