I know everyone's been saying that sales are down right now.

I'm just curious what type of things that you people sale that are not going out because of summer season? I thought since people don't have to work, they sit at home and bid on auctions (well...some of them

I sell old horse magazines and books. Sales are really down right now because I think everyone is spending time outside and not on their computers.

I sell mostly wigs and exercise videos. Wig sales have dropped from selling 2/3 of what I list to about 1/2. Videos all sell but I expect ending price to be higher in the fall when things pick up more.

Conversely, I sell tack and other horse related equipment. My sales are good because people *are* out riding, etc. and are looking for new tack. This is my best time of year.

for you people that sell clothing, do you sell the ones you no longer wear. do you make some money on it, because I have so much clothes (brand names and hardly worn bought by my dear dear dear dear dear friends) I hate clothes, but i'm afraid I won't be able to make much off it and will have nothing to wear.

I sell UK coins, and have just had a record number of visitors to my auctions. I do start at $.50 with N/R. This is not my trading name.

I sell videos and CDs and my sales have been AWFUL for the last 6 weeks. I haven't changed my modus operandi and last year this time was doing great so I think I need to find another line to sell. I've also put about 500 things on half.com in the last week but those things are selling at close to cost because I couldn't sell them on ebay.
I'm sure the increasing popularity of DVDs has hurt the video sales and illegal things like Napster have hurt CDs (I hate Napster because I'm a musician and most of my friends are and it's truly a crime what sites like that are doing...I hope they're still shut down...err,sorry).
Anyway, the same things I was selling for $30-50 this time last year are going for almost exactly 1/10 of that now. Oh well...it was nice while it lasted. I may have to go back to my practice as a licensed ventriliquist (I cover the entire southeast region)...

I sell clothes, (and lingerie)
new with tags, and only high names,
(gucci, st john, tadashi, Chetta B,
La Perla)and some shoes,
(but again names like Blahnik, Tyler,
Vera Wang)
I get auctions that sell
Like hotcakes, and then some that I just cannt give away,
I guess it all depends on how much luck they had at the mall
(once I sold my barely used designer clothes, but that didnt go well)

Yeah, real famous. While I'm counting my millions and fending off wanton females, I sell used videos and CDs on Ebay. I gotta get away from the madness of it all somehow...

I sell Vintage & collectable.

Anything from magazines, books, glassware(lots of glassware), toys, dolls, jewelry, buttons, marbles, kitchen gadgets. Just about anything a person might need to complete THEIR collection or start one.

My only problem is, I want to start collecting that stuff to....I'm such a
pack-rat. So it takes me awhile to part with some of this stuff.

Sports cards, sports photos, and sports photo key chains.

With most of my inventory baseball related, I usually do fantastic at this time of year, but for the past 8 weeks or so it seems that the sellers have been invisible.

I sell books, mainly. I have so many I could open a library.

I have also sold my kid's outgrown school clothes. No Gucci mind you, but Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, etc., and they sell really well. I sold my son's TH winter coat that I paid $110 for, he wore it two whole winters (I always buy larger than needed), and it went on eBay for $40-some. Not bad, huh? Could I have gotten near that at any yard sale? Nope.

I also have sold my Victoria Secret London Jeans, as my weight fluctuates (which it does often), I hafta wear women's long, because I have a 34" inseam, and these sell well too.

Once a year or so, I go through the toy box (which really does not exist anymore, as my kids are getting older) and bag up those happy meal toys and sell them in box lots starting at $1.00. I put about 30 or more toys together, and they sell well, sometimes as much as $1.00 each! Great way to clean out!

I only sell the clothes we don't or can't wear anymore. I have some nice wool jackets that were my grandmother's. Nice designer stuff, but very 60's-70's, still classic styled. Have debated putting those on....

I kinda want to keep them.

Packer I hope that I can tell you about Dept. 56 in a few short words. It will be difficult though.

There is a shop (floral) in Minnesota that years ago they started a contest to see what department of the shop could come up with the neatest Christmas items. Well, the workers in Dept. 56 of this shop decided to design houses after famouns ones. There very first Christmas House was a replica of a home in an affluent suburb of Minnespolis (I think), or it might be St. Paul, called Highland Park and every year it gets bigger and better and different themes. Dickens Village, Santa's village, etc. I tried to find my book on this but in my ebay room things are very difficult to find. The computer I can find because it is on top of my desk and that is fairly clean. I hope this helps you...

Xellos,

I go up stairs, give my hubby a nice kiss, bat my eyes at him, and then ask him if he would please print it for me when he gets a minute. Problem is, that never works.

Usually I go and ask my screen printer Pete to do it. If I want it really bad, I offer him a six pack

BTW, I'm married to a commercial artist - and own a screen printing company.

Need some shirts?

I sell model trains, autos, airplanes, my sales are more than double of what I did last year. I have no complaints, I've gotta go pack some more boxes.

I sell mostly glass, pottery and porcelain. However, I throw in a smathering of other types of collectibles to give myself a break. Glassware is very time-intensive and being able to put something in a bubble envelope feels like heaven at times.

yo! frack, i'm so thrilled to see someone in the same field! Nakago's more of the evil playboy type. There's something about Hotohori being an emperor that draws me! Really....but for my favorite, it's got to be Tasuki!!!!! (love the fangs and fire!)

MrsSantaClaus, too bad I do not have the same facilities and environment you use. Now, I only wish I have this machine (got for free of course) that can print whatever I want (note, on fabric and others things ---I do own a printer)

wbmodrrsupaolcom, do remote control trucks and racing cars sell well? I have a few that run really well!

xellos: Why don't you share with us what you sell? I just read this thread and I see that you have asked everyone else what they sell, they have told you, and you just tell everyone that if they know your ID to check and see what you sell. Not everyone knows your ID on ebay. So...why not just share with us what you wanted us to share?
