I am having no luck getting emails to AOL users - I have tried ebay's "send auction to a friend" but still haven't gotten any replies.
Also, I have a friend on AOL and he isn't getting my emails either.
Anyone else having these problems?

I'm an AOLer and have been receiving emails just fine. Although I have sent 2 already to a seller (another AOLer) who is responding..hmmmm perhaps there is a problem.
If you would like AntiqueParrot, you can email me at [email protected] as a test & I will let you know if I receive your message...

AOL users are probably getting their email just fine, but the average AOLer is probably not online very much.

Rancher,
I've sent you an email (and now I am crossing my fingers!)
mballai,
That could be very true, but the users I am talking about are emailing me with basically "I haven't heard from you yet, what is wrong?"
My friend at work thinks I am ignoring him.

Well, I've finally gotten two responsed from the "send a friend the auction". So that is a start.
Rancher,
Nope I am not Lisa, I am Tracey at [email protected]
I am not getting any "bounced" emails either. I think AOL still hasn't forgiven me for leaving them.

Although I have another ISP, I use AOL pretty regularly for my eBay activity. I haven't noticed any problem...either with outgoing or incoming mail.
I think sometimes it is the individual node, not the AOL system, that screws up. That's why, during the overload a couple of years ago, I never had any problem getting online because I live in a sparsely populated area and the node was underused. People in the Bay Area and L.A. were having fits with dropped connections and inability to log on.
So it's not necessarily AOL that is screwing with the mail...it can be a quirky local connection.

AOL have one of the most stable email system around. Not great as an ISP but email is the best there is. Your problem is somewhere else or your friend has email filters set blocking your emails.

Most likely AOL has blocked your ISP because they aren't doing enough to shut down someone who is spamming from their domain. Your emails won't bounce back when that happens. They just evaporate into cyberspace. That's the reason I have an alternate account with Yahoo. If I don't get a response to a wbn in two days, I send another from Yahoo and ask them to respond to the Yahoo account, explaining that AOL has probably blocked their ISP.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
