I haven't been here very often the last few weeks and apparently I'm going to have to keep it that way. The aggressive Fastclick and Half.com pop-ups are driving me mad!

In each of my two logon attempts today, my toolbar was plastered with half-a-dozen cookie requests and an obnoxious half.com pop-up that refused to close. If my new system (with the fastest, biggest everything I could find) is having trouble, imagine those poor souls on their 486s ... then again, perhaps that's one of the reasons it's so q-u-i-e-t around here?!

For some reason adsubtract doesn't work on the pop-ups here for me.
The one at this site does work for me.

Everyone,

I've done a little checking. You should only be getting the pop unders about once per week. If they are showing up more often, it could be because you don't have cookies enabled, or that you have recently cleared out your cookies or temporary internet files.

I hope this helps. I still haven't seen one all day!

Yes, I have cookies disabled and I fully expect frequent cookie requests. But this is ridiculous!

Whenever I log on here I get requests, not only from AW (which I get infrequently as I permit them), but also Fastclick (x6), and half.com (x6).

I'm getting that stupid half.com popup several times a session.

Thanks for the panicware suggestion, srfnfshn.

I haven't seen any yet either.

I'm in and out of AW everyday.
I've got adsubtract & pop-up killer.

Pop-up killer shows NO pop-ups detected.

It beats me why I haven't seen any, but I'm certainly glad.

They were very annoying the last time this happened.

AS packer stated....

...no pop-ups/unders spotted here as of late either.
I'm in & out of here several times a day and always clear our temp files!

Lucky, I guess.

I rarely see any pop-ups from AW, but I do use adsubtract to block banners and speed up my browsing. One problem with adsubtract is that it blocks or jumbles some sites. For weeks, I thought Yahoo Groups was having problems, then turned off the addsubtract program and everything was fine.

They do it because they know it annoys you. It's payback

Me - I got one the other day and have not seen another since.

I thought it was just me.

I'm having the same problem as Fountainhouse and it only just started.

I always have my cookies disabled and intend to keep it that way. While slightly annoying, I'm willing to pay the price just to know who is tracking me. On this board, AW's fine, Doubleclick is not.

Refraining from purging my temporary files hasn't made a difference either.

This is beyond ridiculous!!! Pop-ups and pop-unders with each page I try to view, when I log in, and when I submit a post. With each function I have to reject half.com 19!!!! times.

It has taken all the fun out of playing with my friends.

Up until this past Tuesday it was no big deal. I would get a half.com, reject it and reduce it, which enabled me to surf AW freely.

Tuesday was the worst. On top of half.com I was getting Fastclicks for Casino, which I could not delete until I reduced them to my bar. Again, that was with every function. My bottom bar kept filling up to the point I just gave up.

Something is not right in AW land...my playground.

And, for the record....

I not only stopped selling and buying on eBay, but I will never, ever buy anything from eBay's half.com because of their persistent, annoying pop-ups.

Now, I know I'm just a little fish in the eBay sea and my stance won't mean squat to them, but I feel better.

Perhaps I am not the only one.

I just configured AtGuard to kill AW's pop up windows.

Finally peace.

UP! UP! UP! dammit.

I opted out of Doubleclick. That took.

I opted out of Fastclick. It didn't take.

I am now getting 2!!!! pop-unders and 1!!! pop-up with EVERY!!!!!!! function.

Hey Pat Taylor
I get a popup every time I visit.
Every stinking time.
Don't kill this place off with them!

My husband found out that if you use adsubtract and you use Norton Antivirus software there will be a conflict. Adsubtract will prevent Norton from being able to get the latest virus definitions. This is for the automatic updates and also for doing the update manually. I'd rather deal with popups than be left vulnerable to the latest computer virus. My husband feels the same way and got rid of adsubtract in order to have the latest virus protection updates.
