I just went to revise an auction and had the option of changing the duration as long as it was not 24 Hrs before the end. Am I loopy or is this a new option? I wonder if this impacts on the free relist, say if I were to start an auction at 3 days (hoping to turn it over fast)and on the 2nd day change it to 7 days for more exposure?
If you don't lose the free relist this option could prove interesting...

I changed it back to a 10 day auction and .10 was charged back to my account. Also, there is a feature in the revision window to add a reserve...

Wow, I didn't even notice the price thing. This could be really helpful in successfully closing some auctions the first time around. I sure hope these are permanent changes. Anything to make the market more dynamic may add to the "game" aspect that many bidders seem to like.
I wonder if lowering or raising the starting price would result in a credit/debit for the listing fee?

Just took a look at my account and the regular insertion fee is also recalculated as well when you revise the auction.

OMG! That is SO cool!
I had an auction that I relisted last night and forgot to modify the starting price. I was just able to go in and fix it! YAY!
This change probably has a lot to do with all the Store sellers that were up in arms because they couldn't modify the quantity and such on their store listings.
BTW, I also noticed that my Me icon is back on my auction listings and the little red tag next to it has "stores" written on it.

Looks like it's official. This from the eBay announcement board:
***Modification of Item Revision Rules***
On eBay, sellers can revise certain fields on the View Item page if there are no bids on the item. Based on community feedback, we feel that there is a need for sellers to be able to modify additional fields within the View Item page as well.
In the past, if fields such as listing duration or quantity needed modification, the seller was forced to end their listing early and relist the item. To save sellers time, we have added the capability to modify previously unchangeable fields:

Be VERY CAREFUL doing this! I changed the auction length from 5 days to 7 days this week and took out some BIN prices and when my auctions reached their original ending date they DISAPPEARED from my Seller Search page. They also disappeared from my Showcase!! Needless to say I have lots of repeat buyers and NONE of them could find my items. Ended with very low or no bids. I'm not REVISING anything AGAIN!

That must be a user specific problem like when the seller search doesn't show newly posted items. I say this because I've been revising like crazy and it hasn't happened to me. Have you tried requesting that eBay reset your seller search?
