Why can't Billpoint auto combine auctions?
Last week I had a bidder win 2 auctions for $1.00 each(color books), I combined for her and cut the shipping in 1/2.
She paid for both right away but with seperate invoices from Billpoint.
For crying out LOUD, that total transaction cost me more then I made. I got hit twice with the Billpoint fees.
After reading Eventers thread it does make me wonder WHY can't these on-line payment services COMBINE the auction wins? Especially Billpoint as it is auction related to begin with.

Why would eBay want to shortchange themselves by allowing us to combine transactions? Their goal is to maximize fees.
If they did, there would probably then be a high hue & cry from those sellers who don't combine shipping for multiple auctions. Can't please one w/o irritating the other.
Right now, the only alternatives are:
Send the buyer a BP payment request where you've done all the combining for them.
or
Let the buyer pay, then refund (but this time, s*l*o*w*l*y, atleast for ME anyway!).
Atleast PayPal allows the customer to decide what amount to send, so once I notify them w/the EOA of the total amount, they can send it once.
eSeller004,
You bring up a good point. BillPoint gets it's cut of the totals right up front. It's the sellers who lose out on a bit because they pay fees on all the invoices.
But the only current solution I see is to remove all links to on-line payment, then invoice the customers for the combined amounts. That's not worth the hassle.
I agree, Ebay should have an easy method for combining multiple wins into one payment. A shopping cart feature or something similar would be nice. I remember reading somewhere that this is in the works in conjunction with our Ebay stores.
In the meantime, I tell my bidders in my tos and eoa emails that multiple bids must be paid for one just one combined invoice and mailed together to qualify for reduced shipping. If they want to use Billpoint, I just revise the invoice for one of the items for the correct amount for the whole order.
