Has anyone had any problem with Billpoint? Can they do chargebacks? Also, can you charge an extra $1 if a buyer wants to use billpoint? I sell small $$ items and it would really cost me especially since they are going to charge an extra fee for depositing to Canadian accounts.

There are numerous problems with BP. They do a terrible job verifying the card. Sellers have gotten payment from "Joe Jones in Chicago" when the card belonged to "Bill Smith in NY." Of course Bill Smith denies the charge and seller loses not only the merchandise and the payment, but an addition $10 charge back fee. Then seller does a little poking around on ebay and discovers that this same buyer has used this same card to scam sellers for months and BP has allowed it to go on. To me this is borders on criminal negligence. TAG (the Auction Guild) sent out a letter to its members recommending that they stop accepting BP. Underground boards (run by scammers and hackers) have already posted the information that using BP gives new meaning to "fast, secure and free."
Just to test this theory I used an cancelled NY credit card to open a BP account with a fictitious name and address in Chicago. BP had no problem with it. Ebay wouldn't accept the CC. Now why is ebay protecting itself with more dilligence than they protect their sellers?

what do you mean by ebay wont accept it?
are you trying to register on ebay as a new user??
billpoint is 80% ebay and 20% wells fargo, you would think with that kind of connection, they would do a better job with screening credit cards.
yahoo paymentech provides shopping carts for yahoo shops (paymentech is part of bank one) and it will authorise the cc ,verifying addr and zip code,it will flag in red that addr is bad,zip code is bad for shopowners to see on the order form.

I tried to create a new account with a cancelled credit card and ebay kept telling me it could not verify the card. I ended up creating the id using a "real" ISP that ebay accepted without credit card validation. I gave this ID a Chicago address. I then went to billpoint and created a BP ID using the cancelled credit card that ebay wouldnt accept and tied it to the ebay ID with the Chicago address. Since I dont want to commit fraud, I won't actually use this BP ID. But if I was a scammer, I could probably pay a seller and have the item shipped to Chicago. Then a month later, the seller gets a charge back stating that this card belongs to someone else in New York. This situation has happened way too many times with BP. I consider it criminal negligence. Validating the name and address on a credit card is basic. How is it that they can do it for getting an ebay ID but won't do it for getting a BP ID?
