I am ready to re-stock my #5 bubble mailers. I have bought from uline in the past and been very satisfied...but I'm also interested in saving a buck. Assuming I'll get the same quality mailer, both 123Pix and bubblefast can beat uline prices.
Question: I am wondering if anyone has a price break on qualities over 100. So far for this size mailer I haven't seen pricing for 200, 250, or whatever. Probably because they come 100 to a case. But if I found someone who could offer a lower per-envelope price at higher volumes, I would go for that.
And no, I haven't found a local supplier in my area. thanks anyway.

I usually use #0 and #00 for my silverware, and have had excellent luck buying from fellow eBayers. Can't remember the exact prices, but I checked all my catalogs (Quill, Uline, etc.) and saved about 30% (and was able to buy in smaller quantities) on eBay. That savings included calculating shipping charges and sales tax, so it was a true bargain.
By "smaller quantities," I mean, say, 100 rather than a full case, which in those sizes is either 250 or 500. I really haven't got the storage space (or need) for that many at a time.

I"ve noticed that the smaller envelopes are offered in quantities of 200 or whatever, but haven't seen the larger ones I used for books offered that way. I did check ebay and while there are some offered, they aren't at a significant discount to what the packing supply places offer.

I am not crazy about using large bubble envelopes for books as I understand that's what you sell. I prefer the padded envelopes as they are more durable in transit. Unless you have some objection to padded envelopes, you might see what price you can get for them in the quantity--they are usually much less expensive than the bubble ones.

mballai - thanks for your tip! I've thought about it, but I've had more episodes of receiving jiffy bags in ripped condition than the bubble ones, but to be fair, I don't get to see what my packages look like when they arrive!
I like the size 5 for slim but tall paperbacks mostly. Hardcovers go into boxes and I now use smaller mailers from 123pix for small and trade paperbacks, so possibly I only need 100 of the size 5's anyway.
Have you thought of switching sizes? I've used smaller padded envelopes (not bubble) for paperbacks and thin hardcovers, smaller than the size 5 you're using. That would also save you a bit of money. http://bjgrolle.freehomepage.com
Yep, when someone posted about 123Pix I picked up a carton of size 2 and I mostly use those now. But I sell a lot of oversize [thin] paperbacks, things like quilting books, pattern books, etc, and it's nice to have the large mailers rather than finding the right size box every time.

I buy bubble mailers from Viking and they have a price break if you buy 3 or more cases. The #5 come 125 per case.
