Ups stopped by earlier today and they had expressed some serious concerns over us shipping 25 and 27” tv’s. They said 19” was okay. They gave me the impression that unless we go out and buy a 50 or 100 dollar box that they probably won’t accept these tv’s anymore. Im curious what you folks think about shipping. Do I need to get some special boxes. , how are you shipping your T.V.’s, 25 and 27”, any suggestions. Should I fill up the box with foam that expands. We can certainly improve on shipping these T.V.’s but at this point were not sure what to do . Or maybe we will stop shipping TVs and only sell them locally. I appreciate any input you may have on this subject.

Check with your local stores. If it is at all possible to get the right box & styrofoam foams for that TV, it helps a lot. I do not know how old the TVs are. If they are not too old it may be possible. This would have to be from the floor modle. Also shipping in the factory box helps you a lot if you have to file a claim. The odds may be against you but it would be worth the try.

Probably the easiest way to handle it would be to set the tv in front of something that is difficult to damage and discharge a 12 gage shotgun through the screen. That lets you know what happened to it instead of waiting in suspense days for UPS to destroy it and tell you it was not protected well enough and they will not pay the insurance on it.
Seriously FedEx Ground is a LOT cheaper they treat me better - have longer hours and will even accept electronic things well packed in NON - original boxes.
I just sent a used 20 inch Mitubishi TV monitor from Detroit to Orlando for $16.00.
I double box everything if I have a smaller inside box that is a tight fit or suspend the item in the larger box buy blocking it the center with smaller boxes that are filled with peanuts or shredded paper to keep them full size. Then I always fill in the space not taken up with smaller boxes with peanuts. I buy the peanuts in 20 cu. ft. bags cheap.
I always glue the flaps when closing up.
