I've just gotten a letter from my current online bank, telling me that they have decided to cancel all their business accounts in order to concentrate on individual accounts. "So sorry ..."

This is after they took over my previous online bank, which I chose after the online bank before that went out of business (remember X.com?).

Does anyone know of an online bank that actually wants to do business with a small seller? Geez!

Check with your local banks. You will probably find most of them are avaliabel on-line. I also use usabancshares.com

I've been using netbank.com since the x.com bank closed. I've been very happy with them. They have 24 hour toll free support, and the staff has been excellent whenever I've had to call for any reason.

what do you want out of an online bank?
many banks have online website where you can view your activities.
bank of america allows you to wiretransfer fund in multiple currencies to other countries.

Hello again -- NetBank.com is the bank that has decided against having business customers. I, too, have been perfectly happy with their services.

Of course, I could just get a personal account and not tell them that I'm a business. But I like being up front about these things ...

P.S. What do I want in a bank? I want an account that is separate from my main personal account.

I want an account that doesn't charge me by the month for the privilege of holding my money. I'd like a bit of interest on my money. The bank doesn't have to be in my area, since I don't plan on putting any written checks into the account. And I'd like a debit card so I can get to my money.

I think that any bank that allows you to have a business account will have some sort of monthly fees. My local bank that I have a business account with charges me for every item deposited. I also access my account online, no additional fees for that.

I use my local bank and check my balances online. Their online service hasn't quite caught up with their other ones, but considering that they are a block away and I can check my balance from anywhere in the world as well as transfer money over the phone is pretty good.

After X.com Closed I checked other online banks and also decided to go with a local bank.

THey offered me a free checking with with a debit card and a line of credit if I wanted it but with the free checking there isd no interest paid on the checking its self.

it was recommened that I also open a saveings or passbook account to tranfer money into in the end the passbook account would earn better interest then interest checking anyhow...

Try a Credit Union. I use my personal account to cash my business checks and MOs.

The great thing is there is no charges for anything. I can even cash foreign checks without charge. No charge for EFTs from Paypal.

My Credit Union also has online banking.

You're lucky. I belong to the biggest CU in my State, but they allow only one account per SS#. Other than that, it's great: free checks, free checking with interest, etc etc
