I do some consignment sales and get some interesting and unusual items...The latest is a copper printing plate (mounted on a wooden block)...It's a Bill Mauldin cartoon showing a Democratic donkey standing next to President Johnson...they're discussing the Democratic Platform. It's dated 1964 and copyrighted by the Chicago Sun times. Anyone out there have ideas as to what category it would be best listed in...Politics? Historic memorabilia? Any ideas what the item would be worth? Thanks for any help from the AW experts...appreciate it!

cool item! I have no idea what it would go for. My first thought is put it under "ART" or "COLLECTIBLES"' but none of the suc=b-catagories really fit. Your best bet might be books. I say this just because most of the "Mauldin" stuff out there is in that catagory. It might be the place most likly to find Bill Mauldin fans.

Thank.

I spend my time thinking of keywords to use in the title and the description.
Category comes second, way down the list - does anyone really search by category?

In 4 years, I have never searched by category, and in 4 years, the only time I have listed double category is on FLD's

Category isn't really all that important. I am sure if I listed everything under "EVERYTHING ELSE:WEIRD STUFF" I would get almost as many bids.

Any ideas/thoughts as to value? I don't have a clue where to start or whether or not to use a reserve and, if so, how much.

Blueyes, if you put it up for auction let us know. I would love to see this. Also I belive the comic book catagory still has a catagory for origanial art. Not quite the same as this, but it may give a clue, as to what people might pay.
