Actually, I didn't mean for people to bid on it ... just slap them into reality.
If it had ended with a money that was actually paid the total amount would have been sent to whatever fund that was set up for the children involved.
eBay zapped the auction, however. Betcha I got nasty mail from them. Too bad I didn't print it before it was zapped ....
When I answered before I wanted some penny bids to get the hot rating so people would read it ... I never expected it to get to $51
I didn't mean to be a slimeball ... just an eye opener

Don't ask me why but I had opened your auction in another window. It was back when it was still at a penny but it had been viewed 114 times. I still had it up so I took screen captures of the entire thing and tomorrow will cut and paste it into one image. I could email it to you when I finish if you would like.
I thought the auction was a nice gesture.

That was wonderful, now I'm crying again. My family is lucky, we're all accounted for. The wife of one of my cousins worked there the night before and didn't do a double shift as she sometimes does so she was out by 2am, but she still hasn't been able to reach many of her co-workers who worked the day shift. She worked for the cleaning company that cleaned all the offices in the towers. She is devastated.
I sent my husband out to get the biggest American Flag he could find and is now flying in front of my door. When he asked for the flag at our local hardware store the cashier broke out in tears.
It is so horrible, I can't even absorb it all. Thanks for that auction it was sensitive and that song the lyrics always tightened my throat so I could barely sing since I was a child.

It was very nice of you to list your auction, it was touching. I went to it shortly after you posted it and let everyone on AW know about it.
I am sorry eBay removed it but at least you received a personal note instead of a form letter. That was a real shocker. I didn't think eBay had it in them

Thanks for posting it. Along with the greed of so many, I really felt a need to make people stop in their tracks and remember what America is about ... what we are about.
As I read it again just a moment ago I, too, have tears in my eyes. This is a horrific tragedy, one that will affect us all for many years to come.
I watched the Prime Minister of Israel this morning and choked back tears as he, too, said "God Bless America"
We will get through this ... and New York will rise above the rubble. That is what Americans are all about.
