I had a vision last night, a picture in my mind of a stewardess pushing a cart down the aisle of an airplane.
She wasn't taking orders or delivering dinner -- she was passing out knives to the passengers.
And it struck me - if honest people had been armed, could the highjackers have succeeded?
Reminded me of the saying, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Or knives, or boxcutters, take your pick.

Hello Vinnie,
Just a reminder that effective tomorrow, we would appreciate threads like this one to be posted in the Round Table. We are in no way trying to stifle discussion, just redirect it to a more appropriate Forum as eBay Users slowly get back to business.
Should there be any major developments (ie a retalitory strike etc), I imagine that policy will change again, at least temporarily.

I would think that providing a safe cockpit that passengers could not access would be a more effective way than arming everyone.
