Help - I'm getting a US check from a Bangkok address with instructions to ship to a US address. This OK? I would appreciate your advice.

I have had international buyers with a US bank account send checks & ask me to ship to relatives in the US. I didn't have any problems. As long as someone sends me US money, I will ship it anywhere they want.

I have many customers from Canada and Europe who have US checking accounts or send US funds and ship to either US post office locations or overseas. I have also done business with the Chinese and Japanese and never had a problem. I auction art prints in the $50 to $100. price range. Shipping charges are always fairly high to Asia but I send Air as Ground takes 7 weeks, Air is 4 to 7 days.

If you're concerned, just email the bidder and confirm the address they want it shipped to. I always like to do this just to make sure I have the bidder on record under their ebay email addy. mary

I wanted to mention on other item that you might want to consider. Although I have never had a problem, shipping to most countries you will find insurance on the package not available. So if it is lost in transit are you willing to refund? Replace? or let the customer get angry? Or even wonder if the package arrived and the customer claims it didn't. This is the one drawback to shipping out of the US.

Maybe it is a gift for a relative in the USA. Many foreigners have US dollar accounts so that they can do business in the USA.

Thank you all - back to my own world where I trust everyone, but cut the cards.

Just wait 7 business days and then check with your bank and make sure that there is no problem and you will be fine.

Hi,

I just had a bidder from outside the US tell me "I am going to have you send it to my family since I don't know what is
going on about our mail getting over seas."

The buyer could be an American who is temporarily abroad.
