Been thinking about taking a chunk of my upcoming stuff and posting on AFA. As I'm currently using eBay to keep me afloat through a layoff by selling off my comics collection, then it means that I can get my $20 actual payout (thinking of doing five auction lots) to make a much larger impact overall.
I have no real issue with registering for BillPoint, honestly. Actually, I pay through BillPoint whenever possible so that I can get the cash back through my PP Debit Card.
I even understand the mechanics behind using the BillPoint payments to gather funds. Secondary or self-serving benefits aside, it would be a #*!@ to gather all that money through the full gamut of payment methods.
However, I am a PayPal Preferred user, and that's where the worry comes in.
As I said, I'm prepared to shell out $20 of my own money and a little bit of time to make a potentially larger donation for the victims of this tragedy.
However, if executing this auction results in the loss of the PayPal Preferred status, then my actual costs become much, much higher.
So the question is... would PayPal be willing to waive its restrictions on offering other online payment *exclusively for AFA auctions* in order to allow us to make the contribution we feel appropriate?
Seems like the easiest way to resolve things... I remain a PayPal user, and my regular auctions continue to bring them money, but I can also contribute to this cause.

If paypal took away your preferred status because you offered billpoint in a charity auction it would be a public relations nightmare.

I am currently not in the office, but I should have information on this tomorrow (when I return). This issue is being looked at by our policy creators.

There should not be an issue at all over this, hopefully Paypal will be big enough to overlook this. Heather
