Over the last month, I have had non paying bidders, three for me, but that is a lot, for my humble offerings and past track record. Been on eBay for 2 1/2 years and this last batch of non paying bidders has been strange! Every last NPB that I went to get my FVF, had been NARU'd. Thought it was a bit strange. Wonder what is going on? And the strange part, they were not newbies, or buyers with horrendous feedback.

Some answered that first EOA notice, some did not. But in the end, baled out and did not pay.

Anyone else having a slew of Non paying bidders about now?

I've had a slew alright. I'm getting sick of it to. Sick - Of - It!

I always have one or two every month, but list hundreds of auctions every month so I guess it comes with the territory.

Good luck with your deadbeats

Have not had many deadbeats until the last month or two and have had several; some answer the WBN and say payment will be mailed the next day and it never comes. This gets tiresome with sales slow to have to go after these people with reminders. I've always shuddered at the people with a TOS that states negative feedback, etc. for non-paying bidders, but now the shoe is on the other foot and I understand where they're coming from. It is VERY frustrating.

sborchert--I agree a huge gloom and doom TOS at the end of an auction is a turnoff. And I do not leave negative feedback for buyers that renege. Figure that the process of NPBA and FVF will ultimately do them in.

Is this my Achilles' Foot. Do buyers see that I do not leave neg feedback and decide it is fun time on my auctions?

Surely they must realize that through NPBA and FVF, they will get it in the end, ie--tossed off eBay.

Believe me, these non paying bidders are a small minority, but the minority has been getting larger this past month and leaves me to wonder what is going on.

Well, how about a NPB who excoriates me by saying I "dont deserve" the payment- claims I never sent an EOA. (yeah! Right!)Has gone so far as to get my contact from ebay! I would not deal with them now if they were the last bidders on earth! Of course, if I leave a neg, they will retaliate! What to do?
Waah!

jeanyu, I know how you feel, but I always leave a negative if someone deadbeats on me. I give a potential buyer every chance that I can to come through and if they don't I feel it's only fair to the other sellers at eBay to let them know. It's a tough call, and so far I have not received any retaliatory negs myself so I guess I'm lucky in that aspect. The first time I left a neg I felt terrible for some reason, but I got over it and now it's not as difficult to do.

Whoever asked about the "green man", type "cry" (without the quotation marks).

glassperson, sounds like a bidder that you don't want to to do business with. Such lengths and lies that some resort to. Why? Don't get me started! Even though one of my high bidders was NARU'd still claimed they would send payment. That was two weeks ago. Relisted that item today. Finally--what was I waiting for? The phantom payment?

Most of my NPBs deadbeat over an auction that ended at a penny! Usually I never hear from them at all, but today one of my deadbeats e-mailed me and was astonished that I contacted ebay and that she considered the sale "null and void". Like she was going to pay anyway. What pisses me off is I go through all the trouble of emailing the sob's all to get 1 cent. I got someone NARUed today. He had over 400 fb and decided to deadbeat on my auction. I am so proud.

undercovers, was wondering the same thing. Just didn't want to verbalize it. If so---I am sorry, I am sorry , I am sorry.
Screw the auction.

Non paying bidders - I can't believe it. I listed two antique pictures that brought about $400.00. I needed the money asap, so I listed them for 5 day auctions. It's been 6 days and I have sent a WBN & WBN Reminder plus another e-mail asking them to e-mail me right away so I know if they are receiving the e-mails. No answer from either one. Now it did me no good to list for 5 days since it looks like they are NPB. One has 2 negatives for not paying. Does anyone know how long I have to wait to ask the next highest bidder if they want the items? Can I cancel the bid from the bidder with 2 negatives? What would you do? This has upset me because I was counting on this money to pay bills due now. I didn't get much done the week of the tragedy and now this. The phone company and other utilities won't wait for their money. Why should we? Darn! Pam

Never thought I'd say this, but I am very happy with my September deadbeats. Their auctions all ended at much lower than usual prices. Now, I'm off the hook and can save the items to relist when times get better (IF they get better).
