Hi--Purchased this doll at an auction recently. Anybody know anything about her? She's the standard Barbie size--does not bend, and has what looks like a script "Barbie" logo on her behind.

She is a bubble cut Barbie from the early 60's.

I have one of those. It was given to me by a cousin (Along with a Samanth Stevens doll!) I was post Midge, but she added an elegant b*#@*iness to our "barbie marathons" that who cared if her hair and make up was out dated!
She's somewhere in a box. Bless her charred black heart!

She is a bubble cut Barbie as others have stated. If she has a greasy face, she is from 1961.

Don't have a clue but have to wonder how drunk Barbie and her friend had to get to have Barbie write her name on her friend's behind!?!?

Stay away from those tequila shooters gals!

It's not Midge. Midge has freckles, that is Bubble-cut Barbie

Yep, now I recall that Midge had that Mary Tyler Moore flipped up hairdo.

I think you are right. From what I remember, she had a flippy-do with wispy bangs maybe?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the chick with the flippy do and the whispy bangs "Francie" or "Francee"?

I also meant to post this link. They seem to have a lot of information and pictures of vintage Barbies & stuff. I did a search for bubble cut barbie and came up with a lot of different versions but also one that looks just like yours. Take a look!

Hope this helps

Thanks for all of your help! I especially love the prices these dolls are going for--especially when I only paid $4 for this one (and another doll) at an auction. Nobody else even bid--I couldn't believe my luck!

just4laffs,

Did she get "booked" for nudity?

Midge looked different from the one you have shown.

You can check out some of the vintage (ahhhh, how DARE they call them vintage..I GREW up w/these dolls and I don't feel MINTY either!) at

http://www.barbie.com

There, now the stupid link should work. Was a senior moment thinking about vintage.

LOL Eventer I feel your pain! The doll I showed was Francie, a doll *I* had growing up in the (ACK!) late 60's. I actually still have her around here somewhere, but she's well played with, not something anyone would want but me.

I wasn't trying to show Midge, I know she's a totally diff doll. But I did remember the flipped up "do" and the bangs, thats what sent me off in search of Francie.
