Check "Buyer Beware" threads for others having the same problem. I wonder if this a new trend, a oversight, or another way to hold up money for interest.
Geezzzz it seems like such a simple issue to put to rest.
19 days and still waiting to spend my own money.

The auth charges can be removed if the merchant faxes over information to state that there was an error. The auths could have come from a keying error by the merchant, etc.

I got this email from PayPal today.
An answer to my question.
Thank You PayPal
Dear Charles,
Thank you for contacting PayPal.
In order to remove the duplicate hold, we need a fax from the merchant
authorizing us to remove the hold. They will need to include the amount of
the charge, your name, and PayPal card number. It will need to be faxed on
their letterhead to 1-402-935-2235. Otherwise, if the transaction does not
complete, the funds will be credited back on the 31st day.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.
