I haven't been able to get into my account all day, and my pictures aren't coming up in my auctions. Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

I haven't been able to access the site at all for several days. I use it for auction previews for upcoming auctions as well as for pics I want to put on my ebay about me page. My pics on that page are X out. I don't know if this is rumors or people are jumping to conclusions trying to figure out what is going on or what. But I found this page that says "Photopoint.com rip-off false adv..charged for service then closed down" but I don't know if it is true or not. It is possible. I know one person on ebay who uses PhotoPoint for her auctions and she has not run any auctions in about a week. Probably because of the PhotoPoint issue. Here is the link. I hope I know how to make it clickable.

Does anyone have any kind of contact info for photopoint? I really hope they haven't gone out of business with out giving anyone a chance of getting their pictures off the sight.

I have also been having problems with Photo Point - does anyone really "know" if they have went out of business? I just signed up with them on Nov. 27th of this year, and I signed up for the $ 29.95 plan....so I'm hoping that I am not getting "taken". I was able to get an email to them, by replying to an email that they'd sent me re: my payment to them. I received a canned response stating that customer service hours were M-F 8-4 p.m. If anyone has heard from them, or really "knows" if they have closed, please post a message. Thanks!

The only thing I know is that I still have no access to the site and pics I had linked to other sites are not working. I did try contacting them at the only email address I could find, which is:
My membership officially began on June 4, 2001 and so I also should have almost 6 months left on my membership. I paid for the $20 one. I heard that PhotoPoint was having financial problems and that the original company bought it back. Why would they buy it back and then shut it down? If anyone knows what is really going on please post to this thread. If I find those articles again I'll post the link here.

I decided to drop out of PhotoPoint when they began charging for what previously was free -- a basic turn-off for me. Now I'm glad, after reading these postings.
Who would want to buy it back? The original developers may want to protect the name, maybe for future use. After all, it was a good deal (despite tech problems) at first. They might not want to associate too many diasters with the name.

I was also thinking the same thing, that maybe the developers wanted to keep the Photopoint name. Either they are planning to use it in the future or they are acting like kids do when they don't want something but they don't want anyone else to have it either
