I hate to tell you... but nobody in their right mind is going to share their sources with you. There is too much competition and far too little good resources for people to just give information like that away. I'm not trying to discourage you from beginning an eBay career.... but it's gonna take a lot of research on your end. To get started selling a product on eBay... follow these steps:
1) Find something you're interested in (do you have hobbies, education, etc... in any particular field) The more interest you have in a product the more passionate you are likely to be about it.
2) Research eBay to see how saturated the market is with other sellers in that area. Too much saturation and you may want to pick another area.
3) Start researching resources. Your best bet is going to be looking through trade magazines, meta-search engines (google.com), etc... Remember... you'll get the best deal buying in bulk.
4) Be prepared to invest a LOT of time in the research procedure.... sources are NOT going to be easy to find. Most stuff on eBay is already selling for wholesale or below.
5) Don't forget to take into consideration proper packaging/shipping of your product, as well as develop your terms of sale. If you can find a product that is quick and easy to ship, you can offer more competitive shipping costs.
Hope that helps! Just don't expect anyone to actually give away their actual sources. (and lots of people consider it down right rude to even ask!) Good luck!

Understood that its rude to ask . I wasn't exactly looking for a phone number and "Talk to Bob in this department"! I was just looking for info similar to that of which you have given me! I appreciate your help, but I have been selling on Ebay for years and years . I was just tapped on my last resources months ago and was wondering if there were any basic tips as to where to begin looking. My last hookup was just chance that it happened, I met someone who knew someone.. you know the story! Well now I want a reliable source!
Thanks for your help!

Here's what you can do:
1. Go to one of the online sites that supposedly offers things wholesale to sell on ebay.
2. Identify a likely product.
3. Search ebay for the product. You will find that someone is trying to sell it for a small markup over the wholesale price.
4. Email the seller and offer to buy his whole stock for half of what he paid for it. He will be happy to do this. He has discovered that no one is willing to pay his "wholesale" price + markup, because identical items are being sold for less than his "wholesale" price.
5. You can then sell the items for less than "wholesale."

do you really think any one will sell his entire stock at half of what he paid for.
could be he made a fool of himself and bot at that site, but liquidating entire order at half is hard to swallow,if he paid with cc,he wont have enough to pay off his debt.

First of all it is honesty that counts. You are not a newbie. Dec. 1999 you signed up for AW, but that makes no difference to us as we, most everyone that posts, would like to know the source of the gold also. Most of us just pluggin along, but I like that. Sales have been booming since Jan 1 and I hope it stays that way. I sometimes have to list auctions twice but usually they sell the second time around. Can't complain. I sell stuff! and I enjoy it. So good luck in your endevor.

I'm chuckling. By coincidence, the banner ad at the top of this thread currently reads "buy eBay merchandise at 22% of wholesale." Looks like the thread originator has his/her answer.

No, No, No! Don't listen to them!
I am the wholesale source for all eBay sellers! Just bid on my auctions, and you will have your merchandise at or below wholesale cost (unless, of course, you want to pay me more than that for it.....)

stopwhining: you said <<do you really think any one will sell his entire stock at half of what he paid for.
could be he made a fool of himself and bot at that site, but liquidating entire order at half is hard to swallow,if he paid with cc,he wont have enough to pay off his debt.>>
The unfortunate enrepreneur will sell his stock at half of what he paid because he realizes he has 200 widgets that he cannot sell at a profit. The only other way to get rid of them is to sell them at a lesser loss on ebay, one at a time. This means he would be reminded 200 times of what a sucker he was for falling for the phony "below whoelsale sites."
It is vitally important to do sufficient research before such a commiment.

Before you worry about where to buy this stuff below wholesale ask yourself are you willing to sell this stuff for alittle to nothing profit. There are a bunch of power sellers on E-Bay that wish to maintain their status at any cost. I'm in this to make money and that is what I intent to do.So that seems to cut E-Bay out of the picture. So even if you learn where to buy this stuff do you really thing that is going to help you.First learn alot of these people are NOT making money,I don't care what they tell you.I've been buying from alot of these places for years, but I sell to the flea market and do great.I only sell the items on E-bay other people can't get, thats why collectables are the way to go.

I know of an excellent wholesale site for Red Rider BB Guns. However, I can't give it to him. I think he'll shoot his eye out!
