When you want to upload images into AW, does it take several minutes for Prodigy to contact AW? Mine churns and churns (at bottom, in the window) for 5 - 8 minutes before contact is made, and then uploading takes just a half minute or so.

I need to know if my problem is unique or if prodigy is the villain here.

Do you have any idea how I can change this state of affairs? I usually click to upload and then leave my home office and do chores for several minutes before coming back to the computer. In the past, AW folks have indicated that the entire process takes them only seconds. So. . . I don't get it!

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.

I had the same problem until I added more memory, but I don't have prodigy. I have corecom. What a difference 126 mb makes when you list your auctions, or with anything you do. I am sorry I waited so long. I now have 156 mb of memory but I am thinking of adding 64 more and see what happens.

I use prodigy and I don't have a problem with uploading images. If I do upload big files it does take a little bit, about 2-3 mins, I usually upload 9 at a time. I hope this helps.

Thanks! I asked this same question about a year ago and people were saying it just took seconds. I can actually leave my office here at home, go upstairs, straighten up the kitchen or whatever, do odd chores for about 8 minutes, and then come back to see the images just showing up now. People then said it seemed like an excessive amount of time--I'm uploading 12 - 15 (or whatever that top amount is) at a time, but MOST of the time spent is with prodigy trying to contact AW! That's what confuses me.

I had the same problem until I paid attention and realized that my photos were too large to load properly. Make sure when you are sizing your photos using whatever photo software you use that they are no larger than 350K. That should solve your problem. It's not your isp as I have prodigy and now I have no problems.

Hope this helps!!!

I did see that it takes about 2-3 mins to contact AW but that ir really just uploading the pictures, it does not mean that it no data is being transmited. Just that AW is being contacted with the data. I don't know if you have the icon at the toolbar like I do, but it shows that data is outgoing from my computer when it contacts AW. I have had it take 5-6 mins with a huge file but I try not to make my pictures that big cause it takes too long to load for the auction on ebay and people won't stay around to see it. <p> Glad I could help
