If you read this in an auction listing, "Now you can have all seven for just one bid"
would you believe you get all seven for one bid, or that your bid is mutiplied by 7?
I would like to place a bid if it is the seven widgets for one price-but not if it is seven times the wining bid.

one bid for all 7,seller expects you to bid an amount good enough for 7 items.
why not ask the seller??

OK, I'll confess. When I read the auction listing I assumed it ment the one bid is for all seven items. Since it did not occur to me that it might mean anything diffrent, and the items were something I had been looking for I used the buy it now feature instead of going the auction route.
Now, same seller had several other auctions that I was interested in and which I again used the buy it now feature.
I emailed the seller wanting to know if they combined shipping...received an answer that yes they do, however...since my total was over $$$$$ that there would be an extra $ for more insurance (these items do require insurance) The total of my "Buy it Now" was nowhere near the figure the seller gave me.
I am not complaining (at least not at this time)I am waiting to hear from seller to see if the mistake is theirs or mine.
The reason for this post is I don't know what to do if the seller says it was suppose to mean "each widget" and not the "lot" I don't want to cheat the seller, but at the same time I used the buy it now in good faith.
I need to hear from both sellers and buyers-what would be fair?

The seller can only charge the amount of the bid. There is no exception to this e-bay rule. If they try to charge more e-mail e-bay and they will deal with it. This is a huge deal to e-bay..Good Luck

The only way you could buy seven widgets for one price would be if the auction was a Dutch auction. From your comments it could not have been a Dutch auction because the BIN feature would not be allowed. Can you give an auction number so we can take a peek?

Thanks everyone-this was a "what-if" while I was waiting to hear from the seller. I was correct that all seven was for the one bid. Seller had sent a standard reply that "shipping is combined, however since the order is over $$$$you need to add $$ for extra insurance.
All is well, I am happy, seller is happy and I thank all those who posted.
I didn't want to direct anyone to the auction because I did not want anyone to think the seller was dishonest-which he isn't.
