I have often thought about opening a Ebay store, but after looking around at a lot of different ebay users closed auctions I can't see where anybody is making much from having one. Anybody out here have or have had a ebay store? Did it work? Was it worth it? Whats your opinion of having a ebay store?

i had an ebay store and closed ot not to long ago. the simple fact that the items cannot be found thru a search was a big turn off. my auctions were getting lots of bids and hits but my store items were not getting hit at all.

Same here, when I had my store open my sales dropped...alot. When the buyer clicks on "view sellers other auctions" everything (including the store) comes up, and it's not in ANY kind of order.
I closed the store and sales shot right back up. I also don't like the fact that store items cannot be found under search, but that's why it's so cheap to put them in the store.
My opinion is this, if you don't sell alot of items don't even try a store, if you sell alot of stuff try it for a month, if you don't have any bites shut it down.

As with any business venture, your payoff is directly related to your effort. eBay stores work, but you have to get the traffic there. Spend some time reading the store posts over at eBay, and you can pick up some great tips. I opened a store one month to the day, and I am keeping it! 17% of my sales came from the store. You have to get people there. You can't expect to park a bunch of merchandise, and expect it to sell. Aggressively promote it in ALL your auction ads - and it can pay. Also, if you organize your store into categories, you can actually help buyers to see what you have to offer. Again, it will work for you if you work on it . . . period!
