Isn't SquareTrade voluntary? Especially at $15 or $25 or whatever it is to use?
I think you can just ignore the request.

WOW, what a weirdo you've run into. Is this guy new, stupid, not all there or what.

I guess I would just state the facts to Square Trade & wait for their reply. I honestly don't know what else you can possibly do. It's hard to deal with a situation that makes no sense at all.

Keep up posted on this.

Just ignore Square Trade. You don't owe them or the deadbeat buyer any explanation. Put this guy on your blocked bidder list and block email from him and Square Trade so you don't have to feel guilty about doing what was right.

I had a guy rip me off for $1900. He never responded to Square Trade. I'm $1900 poorer today. Lesson learned.

Oh yeah. Don't forget to neg the deadbeat on day 89 post EOA. Keep the auction number handy because you can't get it from ebay after day 30, but you can still enter FB for 90 days. Doing it on day 89 is like FB sniping. The other guy won't have time to retaliate.

What's the point? The purpose of feedback is to let people know what type of person the other party is. You're giving him 3 months to screwup other people's auctions without warning.

Anyway, the 90 days is the minimum amount of time you can access an auction. As long as you have the auction number and the auction is still in the database, you can leave feedback. I pulled up some old invoices and found that I could still access some auctions that ended on March 5th. That's about 104 days.

eyegun, I should have took your advice. Gotten another email from sqauretrade, this guy is not giving up! I feel like telling him IF he can prove to a court of law that i did cash his payment, then i will refund him triple! Nuts are out in full force this summer!

DO NOT IGNORE!!

ST now has an agreement with eBay -- if the complaint is ignored, they rule IN FAVOR of the complaining person!

ST may be a con & a rip-off...HOWEVER, it is eBay's con & rip-off

NEW FROM ST SITE:

Feedback removal when no response to your case: If you do not receive a response to your case filing you may be eligible to have your feedback removed provided that:
The feedback was left less than 90 days prior to filing with SquareTrade;
There was no technical difficulty sending notices to the respondent and filer provided the correct email address for the respondent;
Filer used the same transaction # as recorded in the feedback record (filer must file a separate case for each transaction involving the same respondent);
SquareTrade does not receive any response from the other party, either by email or online, before the feedback is removed; and
Filer requests that SquareTrade conduct a review of feedback removal for a fee of $20 (eBay subsidizes the cost of this service; SquareTrade will refund the fee if feedback cannot be removed)
You will be given a link to request this removal service in a notice that we send you after 14 days of no response to your case.

tomwiii: I see nothing in what you've quoted to indicate that there is any downside to ignoring Square Trade.

If any of my deadbeats want to pay ST $20 to have my feedback removed, let 'em have at it. But here's a hint: If they were willing to PAY for anything, they wouldn't be DEADBEATS!

Hmm, good point fluffy, but I had bad experience with lying buyers at half.com, so I am concered that if ST and ebays get involved, they would ask me to send a refund for something I never recieved from the deadbeat.

If you would have left proper feedback when you should have, the whole process would have been much easier for you. Now that you haven't, it makes you look like a retaliator and the is one of the main things they will be looking for.

You can still leave feedback on transactons that are more than 90 days old. Some items stay in the database for as long as 120 days or so I've been told.

caffeitalia I am confused by what you are saying. He filed a case because he claims i eft him a negative feedback, which i didnt.

Since this is worrying you, why not make the long distance call and talk to the guy straight up...Screwing you is much easier in emails then telling you on the phone...Maybe the guy will back down on this...Seems to me this might be the best best..

superman100, the thing is, I still havent left fedback, so the big question is, if this deadbeat pays the 20.00, but there is no feedback to remove, would'nt ST indirectly commited a FRAUD?

OK, gotten this email from ST
------------------------------
eBay Item Number: **********
SquareTrade Case ID: *******
Merchandise Description: ******-

Hello,

This is the 3rd notice to you about the problem filed by ******* (eBay User ID: ******) regarding the above item.

NOTE: if you do not respond to this case within the next week the other party may be able to have their feedback removed without your agreement.
---------------------------

Well what's next?I STILL haven't left this guy a feedback, so there is actually NOTHING to remove whatsoever, but as tomwill mentioned if ebays gets involved it can get ugly for nothing, so do I continue to ignore, o just reply back with a matter of fact response (like "as of this day and time, I haven't left a feedback, so there is nothing to remove..."? Please advise.
