Everyday, I am absolutely amazed at what people will buy! A few weeks ago I sold some broken old barber's shaving blades. I thought they were junk, but someone actually paid $24 for them! What a nut! And to think I almost threw them away. lol ha ha ha

I would be interested in hearing what the stupidest thing you ever sold on eBay was?

A bag of finger condoms. I listed them as a joke, they went off at $6.00.

When I first started selling on ebay my hubby left some stuff on the table for me to toss and some stuff to list. I listed a very cheap Kraft Keychain and it sold within a few hours. Turns out the keychain was in the toss pile... Nice to profit on our garbage.

I am one of the first people that started selling things from the game Ultima Online on eBay. (Ultima Online ...a online role playing game like dungeons and dragons) In this game a person can own a house to keep your charachters and possesions in. The houses range from a small house which is 8 "tiles" on a side...to large castles which are 32 "Tiles" on a side. Owning a house in the game was much like "real life" a house could only be placed on flat, unobstructed ground (no trees, or bushes) Each game server was capable of holding about 3000 houses. Well, once the game hit it big there were better then 10,000 people playing on each server and all the house spots were soon taken up. I started selling the game houses on Ebay. In the few years I was doing it I sold over 700 houses with a price range of $15.00 to $800.00 each.

Ahhhhhhhh ONLY IN AMERICA!!!!!!!!!

These didn't sell, but I tried.

I listed vacuum cleaner bags, they were NEW, but no buyers, had a lot of lookers.

And to think anything sells on ebay ???

I once sold a cheap copy of a Navajo rug that had been soaking up grease in the back of an old pickup for at least 15 years. The dog slept on it, the moths had given up on it, it had more square inches of holes that acutual fabric. I elaborted to the extreme about it's faults, holes, stains etc. but talked up to the max how it would add to the decor of somebody looking for authentic "trading post" atmosphere...it went to a couple in NY who were thrilled with it for 87 bucks!!! ...the dumbest of all tho' was sold by a friend of mine...a used bowling trophy with somebody's name on it (chintzy plastic) for 5 dollars! ...gotta love Ebay!

I tried selling some donut seeds (Cheerios in a baggie). I thought it was a funny idea, but apparently nobody else did.

I listed an old electrolux vacuum cleaner which was left in our house by the previous owners. It was in great condition and I was very surprised that there was actually a bidding war on it in the last few minutes. The buyer left me a rave review feedback and loved this vacuum cleaner. I was amazed! I guess people like all kinds of things from the 1950's...

to kyms When you say you sold a box of finger condoms, do you mean FINGERCOTS (white latex tissue) cause I have an almost full box of these s small which sold originally in about 1992 for $2.86. Did you sell yours in the days on e-Bay when I understand a glass of water could bring $10.00 or more recently? Also what category because I am thinking of possibly FLD. I might even pay the shipping charge 1st class.

A bottle of 25 year old perfume, hubby dared me to list it I did, sold for $50. Buyer was thrilled, it was her favorite, and the formulation was changed about 20 yrs ago and she wanted the old brew.

Second best - 3 used college football ticket stubs $40/each, game cost $22. I keep thinking of the 70,000 stubs that were laying around the stadium after the game ended...

I am constantly amazed at the bad taste of ebay buyers. I get a varity of new items in from time to time. The really nice items seem to have a difficult time selling, but the stuff thats crap, sells fast.

The morale of the story.. .sell crap on ebay... see how many people are selling bogus weight loss crap with the $100 home page feature option.

Jordan. I sell vintage perfumes and they do quite well. If the perfume has been kept in a box or in a dark area it is still as good as it was 50 years ago. Some old bottles are bakelite, some are Bacarach, so you never know. The Fabrege bottles do really well. Lot's of perfume collectors out there.
