I looked for it last night but didn't find it. I will keep searching. It has to be on there because the charge will be 13 cents if it is being used. Remember you can only use it on parcels. Do you think that includes bubble envelopes?

It includes:

1. packages

2. envelopes at least 3/4" thick at their thickest point.

I wrote them an email asking them where I can find it, now lets see if they send it, media mail, 1st class, Parcel Post or Priority Mail.

I use 1st class parcel a lot, but maybe I will just switch to the lowest Priority and I won't have to worry about zip codes all the zones with the lowest Priority rates are the same.

All software parties -- the USPS Web site, Endicia, USPS Shipping Assistant -- are awaiting a back end interface from the USPS Webtools group. It was promised yesterday (6/30) but I don't have confirmation that it was actually posted.

We hope to have a version of Endicia's DAZzle with this feature ready within a few days of the Webtools release.

Thank you for visiting our web site. We apologize but we do not offer First Class Mail electronic shipping labels.
The electronic shipping labels are available for Priority Mail. From our web site at

http://www.usps.com/cgi-bin/api/shipping_label.htm

Customers can print a Priority Mail Shipping Label online and have Delivery Confirmation service included at no additional charge. Please note, however, that Priority Mail postage must be affixed.   Again, there is no fee for Delivery Confirmation on Priority Mail with the use of this electronic option shipping label. Delivery information is only available via our track and confirm web site at www.usps.com.

Again thank you for visiting our web site.

Wrote to USPS on Monday,

To whom it may concern, Can you please tell me where I can locate the first class electronic shipping label-barcode for delivery confirmation.

Response

Thank you for visiting our web site. We apologize but we do not offer First Class Mail electronic shipping labels.
The USPS web site states the following:

Delivery Confirmation service is available for domestic Priority Mail and for parcels mailed as First-Class Mail, Package Services or Standard Mail (electronic rate only).

Huh?

wrightsracing I spoke with postal manager, he told me to go ahead and use the P.M. barcode, should scan with no problems.

BTW, I use the shipping assistant v2 cut and pasted the barcode onto the package.

Today I printed out my Priority labels from the USPS site, plus one that was going first class.

I cut off the very top - everything above the "To (address)". This top one inch or so is the only reference to Priority. What was left was a mailing label with bar code and bottom line with authorization details.

I then pasted this shorter label on my bubble envelope and stamped it "First Class". I presented it at the post office. They placed it on the scale, entered the zip, scanned the eDelivery Confirmation, and put the first class postage on, plus 13 cents for the eDC.

It works for me if it works for them!

I never got a response from the USPS, but when I mailed my 1st class package the postal clerk used the one for Priority Mail, so I guess I will do what litlux is doing. Now I guess we know that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doind.

I did the same as Litlux - Using shipping assistant from USPS.com I entered the package as parcel post, printed it, cut the top jazz off and taped it to my bubble mailer- The post office charged me 13 cents electronic rate. This was my first go around with online labels at usps - Great tool !

Update: Endicia now has a beta version of the DAZzle postage client which supports First Class E/DC (as well as First Class signature confirmation).

If you are an existing Endicia user, you can email me directly for download instructions.

We expect this version of the program to exit beta very quickly and be in general release at the end of this week.
