Remember when we all found out that the United States Postal Service was selling unclaimed or damaged goods on Ebay?!!! I don't see the same sellers selling it anymore. I heard from my mail carrier that now USPS is using "the private sector" (his words) to sell on Ebay. (His brother used to work at one of the unclaimed merchandise auction sites and just recently transfered to a new postion)
That's all the info I have. Does anyone know anything else about this?

Probably too many people recognizing their missing items and contacting the USPS.
.
Reality is a serious condition brought on by a lack of alcohol in the system

It was a test for them. They realized some items are suitable for ebay and other items are suitable for live auctions. They should come back and do more selling but not in the quanitity as before.

What gets me is that they used to use USPS in their auction ids. Now it looks like people other than the USPS staff will be putting items up on ebay other than United States Postal Employees. I wonder what percentage they will be getting if an item sells.

Actually, in all likelihood the USPS won't be launching auctions on eBay anymore. As quickdraw said, it was a test for them, but they've subcontracted a 3rd party to handle the process for them.
