Hi
I've just aquired three large boxes of old bottles and jaws. Can anyone tell me if there is a quick and easy source that has the values of old bottles. Thanks

There are so many different bottle books with such widely varying prices that I don't know if anyone pays any attention to them. They might be good just to ID, then see what they are going for on eBay.
The jaws, on the other hand, might be quite valuable - especially if you happen to have the jawbone of an ass; I've heard it is a formidable weapon.

Old bottles happen to be one of my few areas of "expertise" and just when I think I know what a bottle is worth I get surprised at what it does or does not go for on ebay so I do not consider ebay to be the last word on pricing a bottle. Most of the Bottle Pricing books are not accurate but can give an estamate that might be in the ball park. I don't even own any of these books.
The best place to get info on bottle prices is from bottle clubs and/or a bottle show.
Things that make bottles valuable (Not necessarily an exaustive list)
1 Age determined by method of manufacture
2 Embossing, i. e. what does it say in the glass.
3. Is it colored other than the typical light aqua or clear.
4. As with any collectable, condition. Bottles with scratches, cracks, chips, or stain are much less desirable thus less valuable. A crack in a $1,000 bottle can make it a $100 bottle.
I am including some URLs that I hope I have made clickable, that will give detailed info. Reggie Lynch's site is one of the best on the web.

Thanks Rewassago,
I knew someone would come along and fix this.
I thought that [?img]URL [/img?] without the ? would do the trick. What am I doing wrong?

throughhiker- So many bottles, so much research, so little time. Being new to looking for bottles I'm not sure if I have any good ones or not. I see some that look real close to the pics and discriptions but I'm not positive about them. Guess I'll keep hacking away and then list the ones I think are the real thing and see what happens.
Thanks for all the help guys.
