As a result of a brilliant investigation conducted by the Internet On-Line Auction Forums and Discussions Investigating Association (IO-LAF&DIA), it has been revealed today that a highly publisized planned debate involving members of two auction venues (known as "The David v Goliath" manuever) was never a reality.
While several prominent members of the on-line auction community have stated publicly that the planned debate was a ruse for promoting one of the venues in question (known as "The SPAM" manuever), detailed investigation has revealed that this hoax was perpetuated simply in an effort to break the number of postings record at a 3rd major auction related venue (the "I'll Get More Posts Than She Ever Got In One of Her Threads" manuever).
Several members of the on-line community have been overheard stating that the debate thread in question appears to be meaningless, and would not make a good candidate for the "Most Posts In a Thread" Award.
