2022 positives. 1522 are from unique users and count toward the final rating.
64 neutrals.
58 negatives

Ebay doesn't suspend powersellers.
Yes they do. I have seen it.
RSMSPORTSGA didn't say this was a powerseller anyways.
Besides, don't you have to be -4 before you are suspended? So this seller can go for a long time yet, maybe forever.

Powersellers have to have 98% positive feedback rating, so this is not a powerseller.

RSM..... What do most of the negs seem to point to? Do they look like retalliatory negs from deadbeats, or misrepresentaiton complaints? Just curious. Regardless of what they are for, he's doing something wrong.

Can't imagine why you are shocked.
When deadbeats can leave negative feedback, and if you are a seller who aggressively negs deadbeats, 58 negs looks downright tame.
Negative feedback means nothing under the current system.
sparkz: So now sellers are responsible if their auctions draw a large number of deadbeats? How?

Here's something happening to us right now, as we speak.
We had a keen bidder who bought 497 items from us over a two month period that ended in August. She was very good about remitting payment and enclosing a list of the items she was paying for.
She has never left feedback for us.
Now, today, the 22nd of October, she informs me in email that there are 35 items that she paid for and never received.
The only way that is possible is if they were lost in the mail. She did not insure any of these shipments, though she now insists that she did insure "some of them".
Of course, we have the paperwork. Her lists, copies of her checks, our internal shipping records. So I know that we are square with her and can prove (as if that matters) we are on the up-and-up.
However, we have a 497 feedback EXPOSURE here.
In theory, she could leave us 497 negatives if we don't cough up the 35 items she claimed she never received (or refund her money).
She hasn't threatened us yet, but I foresee it happening.
If she does leave us 497 negs, how exactly does that make us bad eBay sellers or bad business people?

rsmsportsga: One other point and then I'll move on. I've got a lot of work to do.
I think that is way too many negatives for this few of sales.
You're making an erroneous assumption: that feedback = sales. The only thing you can assume is that this seller has sold AT LEAST 2144 items. (2022 positives + 64 neutrals + 58 negatives)
However, he may have actually sold 20,000. You can't tell. Or 40,000.

How can they keep selling ?
They keep selling because most buyers never look at feedback untill they have a problem with the seller.

Fluffy: I don't your buyer can leave you 497 negs and still be an active member. I think if they do it would fall under the following ebay policy and would be grounds for suspension:
Shill feedback, offensive - Using eBay User IDs or other eBay members to leave several negative comments for another user (commonly called feedback bombing).
Even if they did leave you 497 negs your feedback rating would only go down 1 pt.

My assumption is that the 497 bids in question were all with the same buyer id. If they leave 497 negs of the same buyer id. It is not "Shill Feedback".
But, 497 neg feedback from same id will result in a -1 to your score. However it will look bad if anyone checks your id.
I would suggest putting this person on you blocked bidder list, then 'trying to work it out' until all of the bid items are 90 days old. Keep them in the 'process' of being fixed and then dump them after the last date to leave neg feedback.
My response may seem a little MEAN, but you have the proof and they didn't buy insurance. Nothing you can do. For all you know, someone else in their house received it, or they misplaced it. 497 items is alot to keep track of.

Hi logansdad,
intercraft is correct. The 497 wins are all with the same bidder ID.
(I note that she has moved on to other sellers and I fear for them.)
I do realize my feedback score would only decrease by one, but some people (like rsmsportsga) look only at the negatives. I'm trying to demonstrate, with an unfortunately-all-too-true example, why that isn't effective.

RSMSPORTSGA:
For what it's worth, I am nearly 100% sure that anyone who would leave that many negatives for you under 1 Ebay ID would surely be suspended and you would get the feedbacks removed. I believe somewhere in Ebay's rules it states that more than 5 or 6 negatives is considered excessive and constitutes grounds for removal, regardless of whether it's under 1 Ebay ID or several.
I know from experience about this also: about a year ago someone bid on 26 items of mine, paid, and then left 26 mysterious neutrals on my account about 2 months after the auctions ended. I notified safeharbor and they removed the feedbacks and gave the person an official warning. Just thought it would give you a little peace of mind.

on a lighter side, think of the fun you will have when eBay removes 497 NEG feedback comments!
That would have to be a record!
eBay will remove the comments if they nuke you like that so try not to think about it!
...just wondering...
did you take a peek at their 'comments left' section?
(curious if they've negged or power bombed before)

Fluffy,
That's the reason I asked what the neg's were for. If they were retaliatory from deadbeats that really means nothing to a savy bidder as they can see right through them. However if they seemed legit as RSM indicates, then he is definitely doing something wrong. I totally agree that some categories draw more deadbeats than another and that's why I refuse to list those types of items. However, that's a personal business decision any seller has to make for himself.
BTW, if you get 497 negs from one bidder, you could set an all time AW record for the number of pages in one thread.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.
