Check out this powersellers listings. It is an obvious listing violation. Even a basic violation. I reported it Friday. Still nothing. I had a friend list something that wasn't nearly this bad, yes it did violate terms, but it wasn't every single auction they have listed. This guy is a powerseller. They get away with murder on ebay.

Yep, definitely looks like some keyword spamming to me. I wonder why they haven't been removed yet.

Powersellers get away with murder.

Yes, that is true.

I mean, no one's ever seen me and the D.C. sniper in the same room together. Very suspicious, wouldn't you say?

Maybe you should make an effort to sell as much as we do, then you'd get all this "special" treatment too. (not that I have had a single perk in three years of Powerselling...)
I am so sick of people moaning about Powersellers... We work hard to make our sales and to keep our feedback at 98% or better. We did not win a lottery to get the PS logo, we worked our arses off.

Considering I had a customer tell me I need a vacation -- I agree wholeheartedly......becoming a power seller took a LOT of work.

I have never received any special treatment

I have had a couple auctions cancelled because items or words were not allowed and did not know that

I am as honest as you can get and never cheat anyone and I do not think that I am a big shot !

Power Seller ~ BIG DEAL ~ HUH !

for all the pissing and moaning about Power Sellers....
who do you turn to when you want advice & information?
The experienced & knowledgeable but oh-so-hated PowerSellers.
How many What-do-you-do-when-XX-happens threads do WE need to respond to before the crybabies BACK OFF and appreciate what a valuable asset they have at AW?
All of this whining is getting old.
Pretty soon they will find that they are barking up the wrong tree.
What happens when the Hobby-ist eBaYers post questions and the PowerSellers are no longer here to respond?
If it weren't for those of us who pay these tremendous eBay fees, there wouldn't even be a place called eBay for you to come play!
Hate us?
Quit asking for free advice.
Stop wasting my time.
We're on eBay to make money.
That's what you want to hear, right???

...running off to *get away with murder*

The funny thing about the anti-PS bigotry is that I think most of the people posting to AW actually *are* PowerSellers.

Anyway, if there's any chance it'll annoy someone, I'm going to identify myself as a PowerSeller from here on out.

Maybe we should petition AW for a Powersellers Only forum?

Then we don't have to read the complaints against us!

Wow it's been months since I posted here.

I was a Power Seller for over 2 years, one of the first to get into the programme.I never got away with anything knorr was there a single benefit from it.

Its a complete waste of time, and I see you still get the same accusations and whinings when I was in it.

What I did find was that people looked at what you sold, figured you where making a killing and thought they could do the same.

I worked more hours a week as a power seller as I did any other job.I did make a living off of it for over 2 years.

It's hard work and I got burned out on it, more power to those that still do it particularly with the down turn in the economy.

So give power sellers a break, I salute you all.

Still miss it sometimes, it was fun while it lasted.

I have done some thinking about this since I posted about wanting to use eBay in my ID.

From the replies I got on that thread I decided that the reason for the feelings of those of us who are not PowerSellers is caused by our perception of the PowerSeller.

We come on these forums and YES it is often PowerSellers who answer the questions.

Now we perceive PowerSellers to be knowledgeable... and you guys here are...but that does not mean the PowerSellers who are breaking the rules have any more of a clue what is going on than most of the rest of us.

I have looked at some of the posts on the Q&A board on eBay and lots of the posters with questions are PowerSellers who are surprising in their lack of knowledge.

So we non-powersellers think PowerSellers should know better and since they are PowerSellers they are supposed to be setting an example for everyone else.

They are not being "allowed" to get away with it they just haven't got caught yet. No one has turned them in yet. If you do turn them in eBay isn't going to take care of them any sooner than they take care of anything else. So here starts the cycle over again.

So for my mis-perception I do apologize.

I would at the same time like to point out that it is really the PowerSellers on this forums fault. If you guys were not so knowledgeable we would not expect all PowerSellers to know better.

Well i've got to jump in here also. I'm a powerseller and have been for a long time.

Am I proud of it??? You darn right I am.
Here it is 4:00 AM EST and i've been on my pc, answering questions, filling orders and everything else that goes with selling on eBay since 7:00 PM yesterday. That's 9 1/2 hours of work with only a couple of breaks to make coffee so I can continue. A twelve hour is not uncomon for the wife and I.

Nobody GAVE me Powerseller status,
I EARNED IT by dedicating many long hard hours to it each day seven days a week.

Do you hear me cry about the wrongs of others whether they are powersellers or not??? H*** no you don't, I don't have time. If it's not a constructive conversation I don't join in.
I read on AW daily but seldom post. I pass over the naysayer threads to learn from the more informative ones.

Do I get any special perks that others don't get? I get only one that I know of. I get to proudly display a powersellers logo on my auctions.

For those that abuse the eBay system they are contributing to their own demise. Their day will come.

Ironic how you expect solutions from those you most offend.
Do you think you would get any advice is you titled threads...
Test of Jewish Sellers e-mail response
how about
Black Seller misrepresents item
getting a feel for it yet?
Just look into the remarks on some of these threads.
You should be ashamed.
I don't hear any PowerSeller's moaning about the stupid inexperienced eBaY sellers...they are of *zero* benefit to us, they have *nothing* to offer us yet we still answer their insignificant little questions, don't we?
good thing not all eBayer's are so short sighted.
I thought of three questions from a PowerSeller, directed at hobby eBaYers:
why cut off your nose to spite your face?
why bite the hand that feeds you?
why look a gift horse in the mouth?

You Powerseller mean......you do not think this guy is violate eBay rules.....simply because he is a Powerseller and works hard???

God, you guys are so FULL of yourselves.....You would report an ORDINARY seller in a split second if they were to do the same thing and it competed with you.

BUT, OH NO, HE'S A POWERSELLER!!!! He is allowed, because he works hard.....

sorry, mlecher.
The PowerSeller defensive rants had nothing to do with the blatant spam this guy is using. You are right about that. They are improperly titled and he should not be permitted to list in such a manner. To add, I'm not sure why eBaY glorifies a ticket scalper or allows his auctions at all.
The point was that it has nothing to do with his being a Power Seller. Besides which, the fact that he is a PowerSeller because he sells a few high $$ items a month doesn't impress me.
Most Power Seller's actually work at it!
IMHO, selling 10 items a month shouldn't constitute anything.
In addition, his PS status should be revoked in that he has 9 neu/neg out of 70 feedbacks in the last 30 days.
but what do I know?
I'm just a PowerSeller with 99.4% positive feedback, selling about 300 items a month for three years.
*my 30% repeat buyers don't think I'm mean*

I didn't see anyone self-identifying as a PowerSeller who thought that this or any case of keyword spamming was A-OK because it's a seller in the "club".

Criminy, some of you people have to search desperately for something...anything to feel resentful about. May I suggest boning up on your eBay skills instead?

These types of comments crack me up...

Those who think that Powersellers are given and special treatment or useful benefit are dead wrong. The truth is that there is absolutely no benefit to being a Powerseller other than the title itself and the logo. Sure, they have a special email and phone number for customer service, but believe me, it's the same eBay on the other end of the line.

As far as infractions are concerned, there is no leniency given to Powersellers. In fact, we are under the microscope to a much greater degree than any small occassional seller.

Hope this clears up any misconceptions about the program.

Or they do think you're mean, but they don't care.

Here's the thing: It's OK if you're not the Nordstrom's of eBay, with personal service above and beyond. It's OK if you're not WalMart and don't have greeters at your "door". It's OK if you're not Tiffany's, with sales persons hovering constantly.

Set your own standard of service, your own tone.

Let me give an example.

There's a book put out locally called _Bargain Hunting in the Bay Area_. I get every edition of it. I also buy Suzy Gershman's _Born to Shop_ books (Born to Shop London, Born to Shop Paris, etc.) These shopping guides list obscure resources, small out-of-the-way stores that have great deals.

Quite often the owners of these little shops are not exactly charm school graduates. And some of them are eccentric and rather colorful. Or they don't accept checks or credit cards. Get the picture?

This is what I think eBay sellers are like. Our auctions are obscure little stores with fantastic deals. And shoppers will put up with some eccentricity, limited payment methods, or lack of personal charm if they get a great buy.

(Sorry for the short story-length posting, but the concept of eBay sellers must make nice-nice bugs the crap out of me.)

The original violation was reported on Friday. Today is Wednesday and nothing has been done. Could it be that it is not obvious what he is doing? Not a chance. Could it be because eBay doesn't know about it? Naaah. Could it be because eBay doesn't see anything wrong. Ask all the non-powersellers whose auctions have been shut down for miniscule mistakes. COULD IT BE BECAUSE EBAY DOESN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT BECAUSE HE IS A POWERSELLER???? MOST DEFINATELY!!!!!

I am a proud Powerseller who has had a few items pulled for violations.

When I do something wrong it gets pulled.... why is that?I'd be willing to bet that most of us have had items pulled and I know for a fact that some of us have been suspended...
Kinda blows your stupid theory huh?

Maybe you are on a list of complainers that Ebay chooses to ignore? How long do you spend each day listing on Ebay and how many hours searching for Powersellers mistakes? How many violations have you reported in the past month? Maybe they think you are crying wolf?

I think you need to get a life and stop searching for things to whine about. How does this stupid sellers auctions effect you anyway? You seem to be on a crusade to moan about Powersellers... sour grapes?

Considering that we haven't heard from stonecold since this thread was started, how do we know it was reported properly?
how was it reported?
to whom?
through SafeHarbor or what channels?
IF it was ever reported at all.
Our friend StoneCold has 5 weeks experience at AW (139 posts), how much time has he spent on eBay?
We know he's got plenty of time on his hands.
answer #1:
he has no clue how to report this
answer #2:
You've been had.
StoneCold wants YOU to report one of His competitors using your id rather than use his own. He has probably inundated eBay trying to blast his competitor.
so, StoneCold...
rather than start a flamefest or incite posters by using their PowerSeller hate, report the seller for spam title, improper category, not keeping up with PS standards, or whatever you like.
Don't ask others to do your dirty work

I reported this auction yesterday via eBay's online form. Before submitting the complaint, I was notified that the auction had already been reported. Also that it takes three days to process a complaint.

If this auction was reported Friday, then eBay acted within their stated timeframe. Powerseller status had nothing (repeat, nothing) to do with eBay's response.
