Sent a package out last Monday...Pennsylvania to Virginia (Priority Mail)...didn't arrive until late Friday. Jeez...I could've probably walked the package there quicker. Even worse, assuming another bidder wasn't lying (that "shoot first, don't ask questions" idiot I had from not too long ago), took almost 11 days for First Class from here (PA) to California.
This is what we've been paying higher rates for?!?!?

Now I have had no problems. My Priority boxes get there in two days and my 1st class 3 days. Did you use the tracker on your priority box and check to see where the hang up was?

Mailed priority on the 5th to Texas from Milwaukee. As of yesterday, still had not arrived.

OK. A couple of points here:
1) How much did your PM package weigh, cougarls88? The Postal Service is *still* shipping packages over 1 lb by truck. They are *not* going by air.
2) Priority Mail has no service guarantee. None. There is a meaningless "service standard" of 2-3 days, but USPS is lying when they tell you your package will arrive in 2-3 days. This outrage has gone on long enough; I think USPS should be required to disclose that your PM package could well take 3 weeks to arrive.

fluffy, you are only partially right about going by truck. This is true only from your PO to a FedEx air termainal. Fromthere they go by air. I just received a pkg. yesterday,(10/26) that was shipped out of FL on 10/24. It weighed 4#. Couldn't have possibly come from FL to CA by truck in less than 48 hrs.

As usual, fluffy is wrong again.
All Priority shippment that are going further than 500 miles are always put on a plane to get it to the hub in which the package will be delivered. If it is less than 500 miles, usually it will go by truck. In most of those cases it will still make it in the 2-3 day time period. The gray area is the 500 mile range. It is a coin toss for the postal worker to decide how it will be shipped and that is where the delays can happen. Not sure what part of PA this package went, but I would guess it was in that 500 mile range.
