Dangnabit, that freakin Vero is a pain in the butt. I got a warning because i listed a bundled software, so i understood you can't sell bundled, or CD-R, but I saw so many sales for software cd's in their original cases with manuals, that I thought that was okay. Well, apparently not, and i have been suspended because I listed cd's with only thier manuals. So, I faxed in all the reinstatement information like a good ebayer, but now my question is, how long, and whether or not I will be reinstated. Can anyone offer anymore insight or information?
Actually, i have another question, what does this mean for me in the future? I understand I can get permanently suspended with a second suspension. Does this mean two strikes and you're out permanently so I will have to watch myself especially carefully? I think if VERO states they were in error, ebay will consider taking that suspension off my record. I THINK. Help!
And you know, i read everything as carefully as I could after my warning, you'd have to be a freakin lawyer to understand all the legalize on Microsofts website. I hate them.

If you were VeRO'ed by Microsoft, I have some very simple advice: Don't sell Microsoft products, not even new in retail box. Then you won't have any problems. Sorry, but that's the long and short of it. You've been VeRO'ed twice. You don't have to be a lawyer to understand three strikes and you're out.

Wait -- you're selling CD-Rs of Microsoft Products? Sounds like a clear cut violation to me --- I doubt you would be having these problems if you were selling legitamately licensed, sealed in the box Microsoft Products and were a Microsoft Reseller, that worked with an approved Wholesale source.
From what you described, it sounds like you're just burning CD-Rs of MS software and selling it, definite no, no.

You retards, where did it say I was passing off CD-R's??????????????????
No, I simply did not specify that I had all complete packaging because other sales had completed without it, so I was listing so many items that I just took a shortcut and listed four software at once. Two short sentences each. The rule was broken in technicality, not legally.

Twinsoft, what kind of advice is that? Of course a person can sell Microsoft software packaged and complete. Why shouldn't they? It was my error that I did not specify in my sale that packaging was complete. I saw a squillion other completed sales similar to mine. However, that is not breaking the rules, only a technical problem by a novice, understandable.

Vero is not stupid. And those of us who post here are not what you called us.
As a seller of Microsoft Products you may find reading and understanding the ebay rules to be your first order of business.
That they have become cumbersome and complicated is true. This has been due to some sellers constantly testing their limits by finding ways around them. So new stipulations are made to close loopholes.
That ebay is enforcing VERO is a good thing for the holders of the copyrights, and a bad thing for those who would like to profit from their work.
Microsoft does not care how we as sellers feel about VERO, they only want their products sold in a manner they can control.
As others have learned, they protect their rights zealously.

So, how long does a suspension last? I've heard 2 weeks, I've heard 30 days. Can anyone answer the question, and not tell me thier lifestory, and what they ate for breakfast?

If your attitude is the same when you approach ebay as it is here, all I can say is good luck.
I also agree that you should take time reading the rules before listing. Don't use excuses like you were listing so much you took a shortcut or that you saw that everyone else was doing it.
Suspensions are "iffy", some people are luckier than others and many times it depends how forgiving the person is that you reach at ebay.
I won't bore you with my life story but I will say that I had Cheerios for breakfast.

>>You retards, where did it say I was passing off CD-R's?????????????????? <<
Well that's what it sounded like -- from your post, it sounded like you burned CD-Rs of MS software and included them with something else.
Regardless, I work with a wholesaler of Microsoft Products and I've talked to them and the Microsoft Rep and they don't have ANY problem with me selling MS software on eBay (or on the net) if I choose to. -- Especially since they gave me a net based software wizard and I have an online storefront (Which MS knows all about) with MS products on it.
Judging by your reaction, I'm not surprised you got suspended -- apparently someone had problems with figuring out the rules. Don't get mad at me because you couldn't figure out how to sell software without getting in trouble.

I was suspended a few weeks ago for a related reason. NO on the MS resales, but yes on the bundled software sales. What was this 'paperwork' you had filled out to be reinstated? Where do I find it? I just assumed that after 30 days my account would become active again. I thinkith that is wrongith.

On the half.com site there is a contract you can sign stipulating that you wiil not knowingly, on threat of perjury, break a rule on either the ebay or half.com site - that's the paperwork that we are referring being faxed in.
I also faxed mine with a two page statement of my situation, and I'm waiting with bated breath....

Pretegra, c'mon, you WORK for an MS selling outfit, and you know even less than I do. I don't even SELL software at ebay normally, these were my first sales of software. I've only been selling on ebay for 6 weeks.
I do NOT sell CD-R's, they are complete packages of authentic software with all paperwork. I just did not say they came with all paperwork.
Anyway, what was it that you had for breakfast?
Don't comment unless you have an ANSWER for my question about time limits on suspensions.

saffy....I don't know about specific software selling regs, but one thing is extremely clear......you are a world class a..hole. Hopefully an Ebay permanent ban will only be the beginning of your problems. You have people here trying to help and you abuse them.....Vero and anything else Ebay can come up with to bar sellers of your ilk is great. The Ebay is community, in fact the world community, is well rid of sellers like you. I can only imagine what your idea of customer service is....scary. Go away.

Pretegra, when you got your suspension notice in the mail, they offered a link to instructions on paperwork you must fax back in to ebay to be reconsidered to be reinstated. Here's the URL buddy, good luck!

Well, I went from nothing to a Power Seller in about 90 days --- and I never got suspended or even warned.
I must know something --- I don't see how you got suspended if you were a legitamate reseller of the product and to be honest, you're being very vague as to what happened.
The circumstances of why you got suspended are going to determine how long the suspension is.

Umm, I was NEVER suspended, I've never been warned, let alone suspended.
and you yell at me for not understanding what's going on.

Skruggie, did you get in trouble at ebay's half.com or on the regular Ebay site? Did you fax in the info on this page:http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/reinstfaq.html?
Skruggie, does one single person handle your case all throughout the suspension, or does it get passed of from one employee to the other depending on who's on the job at the moment?

Yup, that's the same form I filled out, it's the same page that is on the half.com site.
This is also something that must be new, because when I was suspended a year ago, this page did not exist. It seems to me that it's lika a one time offer for a get out of jail free card.
Unforunately I don't know any more than you do, this is all new to me.

I can't believe no one can answer what the lengths of time for suspensions is on ebay...
saffy, I think you are choosing not to read things too closely here just like you failed to read the ebay rules.
So I will repeat what I said earlier.
If your attitude is the same when you approach ebay as it is here, all I can say is good luck.
Suspensions are "iffy", some people are luckier than others and many times it depends how forgiving the rep is that you reach at ebay. And no, you may not always talk to the same person.

Thanks Saffy, Thank you very much.
Fetish, I think you need to watch Dirty Harry again, that isn't the correct quote. Of course, this could be a great excuse for a Huge AW wide Dirty Harry watching-athon. Everyone agrees to watch the movie in one weekend and then come back and discuss the movie. Of coure, then again, I could be just very hurting for human interaction.
